When I first started using the internet and modern day computers, the internet was open and free!
In this modern day, our governments are more giving us so many restrictions that it has got to be breaching most of our human rights. I am talking of certain providers blocking websites that we all know and love like "www.thepiratebay.se"
Why should we be taken our rights to freely access websites by certain providers. One of the providers that I know that have blocked it is Orange broadband here in the UK. However other providers like Plus.Net and BT Broadband still allow there users to access and freely use "thepiratebay"
What the majority of the world do not understand is the fact that "thepiratebay" is not just a site for getting illegal copies. It is a site that anyone can freely use and share the information that they have. For example, I could create a piece of software, or even a short movie. I could then freely share what I have created with the world and use "thepiratebay" to do that. If people choose to use "thepiratebay" for illegal purposes then on there heads be it. However that does not give anyone the rights to just completely stop us all from using it as a means of control.
Let me all know your opinions and have a debate upon this.
Many thanks
