Well, it was just sitting there in the spare room and no one was using it. My daughter has this nice computer desk that she never really used. It's set up in my room now and I have it where I can watch my DVDs on my TV and have a good time mylotting in my room. I don't write anymore... I just can't for some reason... having trouble thinking and communicating verbally, and I think it has affected my ability to write.. but I can converse back and forth here at mylot. Anyway, I am blessed to have this desk because I was very uncomfortable trying to type sitting on the bed and the laptop on a TV table. This is much better. I have my office chair in here and one in the living room at the big desk. Any thoughts?

Actually, I've always hated those computer desks. Everything in not quite the right place! There's very little free will left in the placement of your items and just where are you supposed to put your coffee cup? Still, I guess with a laptop, you have more options.

Oh I can't mylot without a cup of coffee! It is no coincidence that the mylot interest logo is a cup of coffee. Even my earnings here are spent on coffee!

I don't take any coffee or colored drinks past the kitchen, so in my bedroom I just drink ice water. I don't keep it on my computer desk for fear of it spilling and getting my laptop wet. I keep my water on my dresser and I drink there... just take a few swigs at a time. When I drink coffee I sit down at the kitchen table. Same with my Crystal Light drink, sodas and ice tea... only in the kitchen.

Hello petersum I have that sort of feeling about most computer desks as well. A few years ago I made a computer desk myself out of an old, upright, piano. I gutted it, and converted it to the way I liked things, plus it looked cool, too.

That is awesome. I hate trying to type while sitting on my bed. I have a little laptop stand that is adjustable in lots of ways, but it is already getting wobbly. I can take it to my bedroom when I need to, though and that is great. I wonder if your thinking and communicating will get better as you settle in from the move. I am not writing much at all, I gave up and got a job.

Have they tried medicines other than Neurontin for the issues you have? I would not be amused, I am sorry your family teases you. I still love the thought of you enjoying your new room.

I make about $50 or more dollars a month in just page views in Yahoo Voices. I have almost 1300 articles and poems. Now I just do haikus and an occasional article. I'm seeing a nurse practitioner with a PhD in psychology. He works like a psychiatrist.. he can write prescriptions just like a psychiatrist. I don't know if it will get better or not. I hope so... but the Neurontin causes speech problems, so I already have aphasia at times and stuttering and stammering, and then with 300 of neurontin twice daily I have bad stuttering. My family said they are going to put me on youTube sometime... they are amused, but it's not really funny. It's very frustrating to me. It comes and goes. I just like working with my hands now and working in our new house. Yes, typing on the bed is really hard. It was hurting my back. I have a TV table that I use to watch Netflix. I don't have cable in my room so I watch DVDs and I also watch Netflix and CBS.com on my computer.

Hi: This reminds me that I should change that desk of mine for the proper one. I hand built it myself just a plain table with a slab of wood for the mouse and keyboard, the printer sits beside it with the other printer on a shelf on a wall. A proper computer desk would be fine.

It's always fun to have something new in our houses. I can relate, just last week I had someone worked to put up a table for my desktop. We rearranged some of our stuff to give way for that new made-to-order table. I really like the things now. Better than before. Enjoy...

Wow! You have a nice one! One of my friends has a humongous desk. It is a big U shaped table with a hutch on it and lots of drawers and space for her to work.

Congratulations on your new computer desk, PointlessWuestions. Presently, we just have one gigantic room and it contains our sleeping accoutrements and office. It's nice to have a lot of room for everything instead of having to go in and out of a lot of different rooms. Prior to this, we lived in a small room in an attic above a prince and his wicked witch wife. We had to sit in the bed with our laptops as well. So, it's nice to be able to sit up at a desk, now.

Oh PT! Your other accommodations sounds terrible! It does sound like you have it a lot better now. I'm proud for you.

It really wasn't so bad, and was much better than being homeless. The Prince was my brother and he and his wife were really quite gracious -- they offered what they had. It just sounded more fun to describe it the way I did.

This is a better set up than in my old house. Our house is so beautiful and I love working in it.. then at night I come in here and work and it is so comfortable. I can see my TV and it's just wonderful.

I use a desk exclusively. Prefer it over a table or in my lap. My chair is upright and comfortable and at the right height though I have put a towel under the keyboard and over the edge of the desk where I rest my arms. I’m careful that I do not stress when writing because it helps me relax. I might use a laptop though never have owned one. If I went to the coffee shop, library etc think it would get used on a table. The pencil and paper is my alternative. Do find the soft towel an asset for folding my arms on and resting my chin on my hand when I need to collect my thoughts.

Your desk looks nice. Well I am using laptop at home so I don't have computer desk ever since.I used to put my laptop in the table in the living room every time I use it.There is no space for computer desk at home as of the moment.
