I have that same problem occasionally with the song "Do Wah Diddy" by Manfred Mann. Whenever I hear it, I can't get it out of my head for quite awhile. Same goes if I hear or see anything that reminds me of this song.
Naturally, talking about it made me look it up on Youtube and, of course, it's now stuck in my head. Thanks.
If you want Do Wah Diddy stuck in your head, too (and maybe get "Just An Old Fashioned Love Song" out of there), the link to it on Youtube is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsgyVkT5GW4 (NOT a referral link!).

See what you did? I'll be dreaming of this all night. LOL

hello winterrose! sometimes i am not so annoyed by this, particularly in situations when i would like to be listening to music but can't...i carry a radio around with me all the time! there is a song by the country music group alabama, which comes to mind: "in the corner of my mind, stands a jukebox"!

Yes,i always have some songs that around in my mind. When i was touched or affected by the meaning it,then i really had a crush on it.I'm a music lover and i love to hear the melody and also the lyrics of it.lol,i think this indeed happened a lot among music lovers.
Have a great day.

All the time. But the problem is sometimes the weirdest and the oddest songs get stuck in my head [which I do not even like] and I cannot do anything about it.

hello kkaria! yes, me too! if it is going to happen it would be better to be a song you absolutely love, am i right?

Absolutely. Sometimes when this happens to me, I deliberately start singing some other song that I like, over and over again, hoping my mind would take the hint and start singing that song instead.

Since my brain always seems to be over active, and I'm easily bored - a lot of the times I will find myself turning my brain into a radio. Sometimes I'm amazed at how well I can remember so many songs. It entertains me while I do mundane tasks, so I'm thankful for it. Although it can be annoying at times too, like getting a song stuck in your head that you don't like. I hate when that happens.

Hi psychoartist, if I come across any wonderful new, music played by erhu, a chinese tradition instrument, I would keep on listening to the same melody continuously. The music played by such instrument is exactly the same as those played by violin. The different is, when playing violin it is placed on the shoulder whereas erhu is placed on one lap. I love only music which is quiet and soft. It's so comfortable to have such comfortable music played softly while working on pc or reading.
I seldom play my favorite music. Listening to the same melody that I'm familiar with repeatedly would make me feeling bored for sure To have favorite music playing softly as background would make the atmosphere rather vivid and I seem working more lively I'm listening to movie soundtrack Despedida.
Happy posting

hello ikbooi! thanks for sharing about the erhu! it sounds wonderful and i would love to hear it! like you, i don't like harsh music or music with lyrics when i am working or reading or for background noise...i usually choose instrumental jazz for those times! peace to you!

Well, last song syndrome. It is very usual to us or to me where in I keep on singing the last that I heard from radio, music player or with someone else especially when the song is nice and cool.Sometimes other people around me sing it too lol.
