Hi there! I feel so unused to working on a Saturday. My off days are usually on Friday and Saturday. However, due to the fact that one of my colleagues went on a vacation, one of my off days was temporarily changed to Wednesday. So, here I am in the office, alone and typing here for MyLot just to have something to do and be busy at.
It's so quiet. I can see few students roaming around. Only very few of the restaurants in the food court are open. I feel sleepy and I do need another cup of coffee.
Seriously, I'm bored but on the other hand it's good to have time to share my thoughts in MyLot. How about you, what's your experiences when working on a weekend?

We have the same feeling. Toady is Saturday, my officemates' day off. I'm alone, and also typing at mylot. It took me some years before I finally accepted to myself that I have to work during Saturday and Sunday. Friday is my off. It's hard for a mother like me because my kids don't have classes on Saturday and Sunday. We don't have time to be together, so I feel so bad about it. But I need work, so here am I.

Oh..That's sad. I know how you feel since my baby is at home too with a babysitter with her. Good thing here is I have a two days off which I can spend time with my baby.
I hope that soon you will have an off on the weekend so that you could catch up with your kids and spend time with them.

I don't really mind when I have my days off, as long as I have some kind of day off during the course of the week to be able to get the things done that I don't have the chance to do during the week. I like to work at the weekend, because the shops are always busier then, and if I take my day off during the week then it is much nicer to go shopping then, as the shops are not as stressful as they would have been if I had gone at the weekend like a lot of people have to because that is the only day off that they manage to get.

Well, that's a good point. That's something to consider. I haven't tried doing shopping on weekdays. While normally on weekend, shops are full. Cabs are very hard to find. If your going to call the cab company for a reservation it will take like twenty minutes to have it. I guess, this is one advantage of having an off day on a weekday.

I am glad that you are able to catch up on here and and have time to think. I hope that you will be able to take time off from work and be able to go on vacation. I am currently not working because my husband has hurt his foot and is now walking around with a CROW boot. He is unable to work because he has to take it off every couple of hours and he will not be able to walk around without it. This weekend I am hoping to go to Lake Mead for a while and then I will come home at night and get my homework done.

Hi there. Well, I'm going for a vacation to the Philippines on November. My husband and my daughter are coming too. We're looking forward to that.
Hope that your husband's foot will be okay in the soonest possible time and enjoy your visit to Lake Mead. Cheers!

You're not alone shello. It's been more than 2 months that I was not enjoying that so-called vacation. I've got 3 more months to complete the training phase. Done with the first part and now on the second part. We must be in 24/7. Worst, we have been assigned in a far flung municipality. I understand it's part of the training and we just have to enjoy the new experience.

Hi, Aries. Just enjoy the moment so that you will be motivated with your training. Though it's tiring and boring sometimes but we really have to keep on and get going. It's not easy but will have to look at always the brighter side in all situation. Cheers!

When it comes to my job working on the weekend is no different than working during the week. It's always the same (yet different too). I'm pretty much almost always on the move as it's very fast paced every single day.
Happy mylotting!

I have worked every single Saturday for the past seven years. This is my choice, and it works for our family. Since I am a nurse, I have worked holidays, evenings, nights, and at least every other weekend for almost 25 years now. When I decided to homeschool my children, I cut back to just working Saturdays each week. I don't mind it and am very used to it.

Good for you that you dont have work during weekends. In our case, we need to go to work until saturdays. However, we try to adjust our time and go to work earlier so that we can go home earlier too as long as we covered the 8-hours of work.

I use to be a security guard at a mail. Its a headache dealing with the teenagers and the little kids. Weekends are for me to relax and enjoy myself. I don't want to be bother with people when I am working.
