My Brother Loves Church Songs

Philippines

Hello Lotters, My Brother has always been an ardent lover of church christian songs, special the ones being sung by a choir. unfortunately, I have not been in favor of these songs much since am into Mainstream, R n B and most are Japanese. but i admit sometimes it feels calm when ever i hear the song. all that anger and confusion that i listen to other songs seems gone. reminds me, i haven't gone to church for a while. he's really that religious and loving person.

You know before I don't love church songs very solemn and boring.. but when I became active in the church and part of them - happy to sing and sung the songs about God. Praising and worshiping God through music.. I like the songs of Casting Crown title: Who Am I, a beatiful song...

Hello Visavis, outside church and mass? yeah it can be boring most specially if you're not into the mood at all. it happens, we are all human anyways, but learning these songs makes you feel at peace and secure. praising god by singing these music is perfect, it makes incline to worship, which is normal and good

Hi Letran, Try to listen to Hillsongs, they have so many solemn songs that will make you cry esp. " When God Ran". Try to search it on youtube, it really gets your emotion out and guilt in a way.

Hello Danzylop, I am glad that you like listening to these songs and makes you proud. It's only recent that I've heard about music coming from hillsong. however, my favorite is actually Mighty to Save, it's the first song I've heard from that band. though, it came from another christian religion it's fine with me as long as it's total music to my ears.

you're right, it helps me a lot to calm more than being anxious. it keeps us peace when we are supposed to feel hatred and anger in our hearts. and it actually kept me from complaining when ever there is something am tired of doing.

Hi Letran Knight: Oh really? I think that's cute. I love some of the Gospel songs because they can make you feel connected to your religious values and at the same time, you feel a peaceful experience with them. It's a beautiful spiritual feeling. It's nice that you're brother love these songs though it's also good to have a varied taste in music. ALVARO

Hello starsailover, You're right it gives you a sense of piece and Joy to your ears. of course, it's not every day that I get to hear these songs. sometimes it needs time for me to enjoy this music because it's singing to GOD. he's been a good christian, more so now because he has a family.

Christian Music is awesome. I'm a relatively new Christian, and a music lover. Before I was Christian, I always thought that gospel music and praise and worship music were kind of, oldies-tuned, something I wouldn't get into. But I watched The Fighting Temptations, and the song they sung was pretty RNB-ish. That aside, the message really drilled into me. Plus there are a lot of RNB and alternative bands that play good Christian music, something that a lot of youth can really get into if they want to start having a relationship with God. Hillsong United, The Katinas, Casting Crown, Chris Tomlin, and Jars of Clay are Rock, Alternative, RNB in genre, and play music with messages about God and his greatness. It's a great way of using music. It's one of the reasons why attending church has been pretty important to me. Having a relationship with God is like having a relationship with any normal person. When you have a relationship with someone, you want to make that person happy, you want to get to know more about this person, and as much as you can you will spend time with this person. I view my relationship with God that way. And the best part is, there are no pretenses, no fakes.

Church songs are very deep. Such songs help us to get out all our emotions and i used to hear them to relax my mind.

Hello thewonderboy, indeed such a deep that help us dig into our soul that helps us relax. i think songs like rock, metal and others makes people feel more violent and let out too much negativity. thank you for sharing, have a nice day.

Personally I enjoy listening to Christian songs. They can be quite calming and relaxing especially when things may not be going the best. I do admit I also have a lot of favorite singers. But anytime I am just feeling out of it Christian music is good for sure.

Hello Jaiho2009, wow that is good for you and cool for something like you have a gift in singing. would you believe that my mom is also part of the choir here in the parish but she can't sing and doesn't have the tune for it. it's nice to listen to the praise song for once in a while.

I guess we all need to detoxify ourselves from all the worldly things. Come to think of it, pop songs now adays mostly contain sad stories and our subconscious takes them all in. I've noticed that listening to christian songs have a soothing effect on the senses so it's like taking a bath for the ears. And no, I'm not referring to cottom buds.

I do too. However, I cannot stand the ceremonies anymore. I still love church pieces like choir songs and classics write for the church. The only thing that I cannot really accept is the new rendition of some songs which is very hard to follow and strange to hear. I prefer the old rendition when I was taught about it.

I'm still the old fashioned " Baptist Hymnal" guy up to now when it comes to church and choir songs. Traditional songs like "Amazing Grace" and " How great thou art", almost everything from the old hymnal that have some songs that date back to the 1800's and 1900's, I also always most of the time prefer the original tune

Hello Louievill, I haven't heard those songs before, but i think i might even find a way to check that songs later on. in my own experience, i still love and want to hear old choir songs, because my problem with the choir in our parish is that they make a new music thing. like you, i prefer original than the new tunes

There's A LOT MORE in life to be angered at and frustrated at, than just a humans' song choices, artists and genres of music. I, personally, like...A Capella, Catholic/Christian (EXAMPLE: The Statler Brothers), Specific Church Choirs (EXAMPLE: United Church of Christ in Beaverton Oregon), Pop, Soft Rock and More. In fact, I'd love to meet your brother. Sounds interesting.

Hello Capricorn_love, thank you so much for fsharing these kinds of music songs. He works in a Non Profit Organization and used to play guitar for the choir, but he only does that sometimes because he needs to work. but yeah, things are really good for him simply because he believed in GOD, and has always been

Hello LetranKniht25 Mrs. Turner enjoys the alleged 'Church' songs. She also really enjoys hymns, especially the older hymns. She knows all of them by the memory. Every verse. It is amazing. She also knows who wrote them, what year they were written, and various other information about why the song was written. Mrs. Turner has an amazing the singing voice and is very intelligent and her mind amazes me.

hi letranknight! i was brought up in the church as my father is a pastor and i like other kinds of music, (r and b, jazz, pop, country, etc.) but i really feel that church music feeds my soul...i like songs by mass choirs, such as hezekiah walker and the love fellowship choir, or the atlanta mass choir...they can be peaceful and calming! i also enjoy more fun gospel music such as kirk franklin and god's property...gospel rap stuff...it is fun to crank up real loud while your driving ! it is good to explore all kinds of music and listen to what you enjoy or what you need at different times and moods...i also like old hymns that i grew up with in the church...they really say and mean a lot...music is the language of the soul! peace to you!
