before when there were not too many fast foods, obesity is not as common as it is now. although there are still not too many obese people but it has increased some how compared to before. and others who are not severely obese are in the borderline of being mild obese. so these fast foods have big impact on the society and how the people looked. before a decade ago, people are more slimmer and more into healthy because they have less options to eat in fast food. and because they have less more options to buy healthy foods. i think that we have to raise again the awareness of healthy living and to remind ourselves daily of food that are easy to prepare and yet healthy to eat.

I have not really noticed it yet.. But i do notice that there are more malls and fast foods being made these days.. But i don't see much really huge people.. But it is right to start now before they become many ..

It is so cool to here different views from other countries. They are killing us with this fast food, but I do love it myself. I try to go the other way if I start starring at a fast food restaurant too long. The grease and no veggies really. We were meant to eat veggies and fruit but not that.

I used to think that my obese friend is just plain lazy, not exercising, and not even walking up a flight of stairs & taking the elevator instead. He also gobbles up food real fast, bought mostly from fastfood drive-throughs and popular coffee chains. I stumbled into a few articles that have made me understand my obese friend better. One of the articles said genetics and biological make-up (and certain hormones that trigger an increase in appetite) are key factors that prevent people from losing and keeping weight off. It's not just about mental toughness and calorie counting. There are so many factors causing obesity, and only when people begin to understand what lies ahead (serious illnesses like diabetes or heart problems)and what's triggering their excessive weight gain will they be able to effectively combat the battle of the bulge.
