Previously i we switch ON some corridor light for conveinence sake when going to toilet , however since electric tariff increases , we off all unnessary light to reduce bill , hence it quite dark outside and i choose to close bedroom door and also lock it. ALso lately they are some invasion of local rats into the house. So family do not lock bedroom door to allow their children access if have nightmare. How about u?

As I use an air-conditioned room, I have to lock the door of the bedroom when inside.

I don't really lock the bedroom door since my children might have something to say or anything.. But the doors outside are very secure.. we have lots of locks.. So we have nothing to worry about.

I actually don't have a lock on my bedroom door. I live with my parents, and only their master bedroom door has a lock, but they don't use it. In fact, they usually leave the bedroom door open except during the summer when they might have the air conditioner on & they have the door ajar. If my bedroom door did have a lock, I still wouldn't because my cat wouldn't be able to get in & out. At night, she often comes into my bed after I'm already asleep, and in the very early morning, she wanders around the house. I would probably lock my bedroom door if I had no cats & I were living by myself or with my husband sleeping in the same room.

Hi kukueye , ya I used to locking my room when I am staying inside my bed room. It will help me to have much more liberty inside my room. I just don't allow people from outside to enter my room. Or even when I am studying I used to lock my room, because outside noises may disturb me. Also it help me to have a deep dreaming in sleep with out any disturbances .

I prefer to lock my bedroom door, even when I am inside and also when I am sleeping. I like it that way, it makes me feel more secure. I do not want anyone to wander in when I am sleeping, even if it is anyone from my family. It makes me uncomfortable. And I like to keep a small night-lamp on during the night. It is zero-watt lamp, and consumes very little electricity. You can try buying low energy consuming lamps and install them in the corridor, that way you will be able to keep the lights on, and not lock your door, if you like it that way.
