Why don't Legos minifigures have noses?

My kids have TONS of Legos minifigures, from many different sets and genres, and NONE of them seem to have noses printed on them? Some have mustaches, or beards, and they all have eyes and mouths (unless they have masks or something). But no noses! Anybody out there know why?

Well, I don't miss the noses from them, mainly manufacturedly and stylistically drawn noses always look cheap and ridiculous, especially drawn with black. Maybe it's the cause (I mean, on paintings and real life, noses look nice, but because of the shadows and how it's not with a thick black contour... when it's drawn in thick black paint, it looks like an animal nose or a potato).

Yes, but they put noses on their new "girl Lego line", so does that mean they will be more stuck up? The Legos people also gave them other physical characteristics that the original minifigures don't have, which has caused quite a controversy, but that's a different discussion!

lego toys dont have noses because it will ruin the looks of the toys and also the lego people dont like stuff that stick out of the heads of the toys and imagin lego whit a nose how funny is that :D

But would we have thought it was funny-looking if they had given them noses to begin with? And they could be flat, painted-on noses, just like their eyes, mouths, mustaches, glasses, etc. Just sayin--how much harder would it have been to paint on a nose????
