This Saturday our family did the "Out and About for Autism" walk/run. This was my first time going and it was a lot of fun. I had a bit of a hard time with it because of the pregnancy, but all in all it was fun. I think I just got a bit overheated. If anyone ever gets a chance to volunteer for Autism, Out and About is a great organization!

That's a cool name for a charity walk. Did your sister create and organize this event or has it been ongoing? Does it take place each year? I think it would be a really good experience. I've never done a charity walk like that, but it would be neat. I've done fundraiser walks (where you get sponsored per mile) as well as bowl-a-thon's (where you get sponsored per pin). They are all very different! Maybe I can participate in something like this. At least the weather cooled down a bit for your walk. I can't imagine how everyone would feel walking today. It could hit 100! By the way, shame on you for wearing flip flops lol. I think you now know why! However, I have to ask, if you had those pink Pumas you'd been wanting, you wouldn't have worn flip flops, would you? LOL! I'm glad the walk went well. I enjoyed looking through the pictures on FB!

That would be really fun! I enjoyed our walk at work the other day, so I will miss having you there now! On the walk next year, I know I'll have at least three pairs of Pumas to choose from lol. I can't run for anything because I'm so out of shape, and it gets my asthma all riled up, but I absolutely love to walk!

My family does the Autism Speaks walk in our area every year (I don't know if we have an Out and About event here) and it's a lot of fun. I always enjoy the resource fair, because they offer a lot of different ideas for therapies, sensory play, etc. I always learn something new and I always buy things from the booths that are donating to Autism Speaks. My son really likes the walk, too, though I wish that they would stop putting the moon bounces at the walk -- not always a good idea to combine kids with Autism and moon bounces.

I agree that sometimes the moon bounces can get a little crazy, maybe suggest an alternative... I had my 3 year old with me and I distracted him when we walked near them to look the other way! I was not feeling like chasing him around after doing the walk!
