Had a good visit to the doctor

I had to see my eye, nose and throat doctor this morning to have a probe put down my nose to check my acid reflux. About three months ago I found out I have acid relux disease. So I had some weird stuff sprayed in my nose that tastes like vapor rub and had to eat some jelly to lumbracate my throat! Yummy stuff! Not! Anyway the probe went well even though it was uncomfortable at times! My doctor was also checking for throat cancer which I don't have! If I continue with diet changes, lose some weight (which I am trying to do) and keep taking my meds I should not have to see my doctor until next June! Having acid relux disease sucks but if I keep working at it I can deal with!

I suffer from acid reflux as well but I have never heard of a treatment like you describe blue. It sounds horrible *shudder*.
I take an antacid morning and night and I'm doing pretty well on it although I am now getting indigestion really badly.

Until I discovered I had acid reflux disease I didn't know about this treatment. It sucked having it but hopefully I won't have to go through with it again for a few years! I was doing the antacid thing for awhile but that was not the only problem. I really thought I was having sinus problems. Went to a internal doctor and nothing worked to clear up my sinuses. I thought my upset stomach and irregular bowel movements were all sinus related. Not! All of that has been coused by acid reflux disease! It explained my probelms! So I am still working on my diet. Giving up all tomato products and OJ. Should with chocolate but that has been hard! Still have not done it! Gave up spicey, deep fried, and most greasey food. Don't go to fast places anymore except for Subway. Gave up soda, too. Luckily my last days were good days! Hope to have more of those!

I know some people with that have to sleep in a more upright position...
Happily, while I've had a bout or two of acid reflux, its been the exception and certainly NOT the rule!
I find if I don't eat spicy food (big sacrifice NOT!) and I don't eat too late in the evenings, I do alright.

I had a problem from my mid-40's until my early 50's, and I think it was related to menopause, but if I ate late in the evening (after 7) IN THE SUMMER, I would wake up in the middle of the night burning up! It would take HOURS at best to cool off enough to go back to sleep.
I haven't had that problem for a few years now, but I'm well past the change!

I should sleep on in incline. It probaly would help! I just hate sleeping on my back! I have tried to stop eating chocolate but that is my biggest problem next to giving up pizza with red sauce! OJ,too! I am better when I don't eat later at night either and taking a pill once a day before breakfast helps, too!

I hope to keep on working to improve my acid reflus problem! My biggest thing is pizza with pizza sauce and chocolate! I will get a bone density test next monday. I was so tired this morning I couldn't go so I reschedled! I hope there will not be a problem with my bones!

So glad there is no evidence of cancer!
My sister has acid reflux so I know it's an awful condition to deal with. I'm glad you are making changes that will improve the condition for you.
Good luck with the weight loss. I know that helps greatly.

Acid Reflux Disease? Now that must be fun....Not!! Being over weight sure does cause some problems doesn't it? Sticking a probe down your throat must have been fun. THey did that to me when I had my last Colonoscopy. Ugh!

This was worse then the colonoscopy! At least I was asleep for that! Having acid relux sucks but changing my diet and taking a pill for it helps. This acid reflux is a good excuse for me to get on losing some weight! I need to do more work but I will do it!
