Well, I guess it depends on what kind of liquids we are talking. So what kind of liquids do you drink exactly? I'm pretty sure some of them are better than others. Also, are you lactose intolerant or something like that? In that case dairy drinks may make you bloated, but that should go away once you stop drinking them.

The main problem with a liquid diet is that it is not sustainable in the long-term. Eventually you are going to want to eat solid foods (your body will beg for it), and the problem is your digestive system will have lost some of its ability to muscle the solid foods all the way to complete digestion. As a result, more of the food will sit around for longer, giving you more time to absorb more than the normal nutrients, which will lead to wait gain, even if you eat a little less than you did before starting the liquid diet. Also, if you are starving from the liquid diet, your brain will send signals to compensate and make you want to eat more once you finally do start eating. Try incorporating healthy, lean foods into your diet with exercise (something fun like dance!) to prevent this from happening. Good luck and congrats on the 20 lb weight loss.

Well done for losing 20 pounds using your liquid diet. When you begin eating solid food again you should make your diet is super healthy and do lots of moderate exercise.
When visited South America and lost 4 kilos. I am walking my disabled son to school, swimming and dancing so lose some weight. I am in the normal body mass index. I would like to lose 2 to 5 more kilos.
I recommend vegetable soup, seeded bread, fruit and vegetables like salad. You should make sure you get the right amount of calcium and protein. Soya is low in fat yet has both of those. Good luck carrying on your weight loss.

Two weeks is a long time to be on a liquid diet unless it is a medical necessity. I would be very careful, a diet like that makes people gain a LOT more weight back after they after they are done, just like lilblondie was saying above. I have seen it happen over and over and there are many studies to prove it, the very best thing to do is try to eat healthy with lots of fresh foods, fruits and veggies and exercise. Good luck!

When I was 15, I went on a liquid diet on and off for two months. Lost 32 pounds, and gained ONE HUNDRED back. I've now been counting calories and eating healthy for 3 years, and I lost all the weight the proper way, and kept it off. I'm now a petite 123 at 5 foot 6. After liquid dieting, I shot up to 257. Keep that in mind! Diets don't work!

I think you should eat somethings, try to start soft diet first before eating solid food to help your stomach to adjust. Two weeks under liquid diet is not good you might risking your health condition. There's a lot of way to lose weight but sudden losing weight was dangerous and if your lose weight easily for sure you will gain weight easily too. Better to watched your food and exercise will help you to lose weight in a right and healthy way.

hi bhebelen, actually i started with soft diet for i think 3 weeks before shifting to liquid diet. in that 3 weeks, my stomach got used to very light meals. so it was not hard for me shifting to liquid.
but now, i think i am shifting back to soft diet or to low-calorie diet.
thanks.

You should try some salad diet..with lean meats. A liquid diet or any diet that you are not getting the right nutrients will put you off balance and in the end you will gain that weight back. The liquid may make your belly swollen momentarily but that's probably all. But again...do eat..2 weeks no food can't be good for you. Unless those drinks your drinking are blended up veggies, fruits and a little protein or meat, some calcium. Just be safe.
