Precious than wrist watches: What's the time on your left, how about your right?

When I was young, my parents bought me this analog watch, so I could learn how to read the time through the short and long hand. In this way,I was able to master counting particularly the 5's. It was so funny that my godmother game me another watch - a digital one. I told my mother if I could use both of my 2 watches, one on the left and the other is on the right wrist. I explained this to my mother - I used the digital watch to verify if I'm reading the time correctly in the analog one. That made me an expert in reading the time when I was a kid. Funny but witty. Now, this experience make me really smile and I love to share this to my friends. Any funny but witty experience when you were a kid? Please share. Also, thoughts on time and watches. Thanks in advance.

I have the Analog windup watch my Grandparents gave me when I was 7...It's still working! I didn't get my first digital watch til I was in my teens..and now I have an analog watch that has a solar panel that charges up it's battery in sunlight..now I see that e-ink display watches are becoming available...

I don't remember my parents getting me analog n digital clocks for me to learn to read time.. I learnt it when my parents elders tells the time to one another among them and from school.. When we were in school we used to draw hands, write the time seeing clock images.. With that I learnt to tell the time... I did wear writ watches.. But once I got used to read time from my mobile phone.. I stopped wearing watches.. Also as I felt uncomfortable wearing wrist watches during really hot days.. I am now without watches.. Only when I go for any functions I wear gold plated beautiful watches.. Most of us go to work.. So we can see the time on our Computer.. So why need a watch.. There are still people who can't go out with their wrist watches, example my mum..

we use to catch fireflies to suppose to light up out rooms after dark, of course, when our parents found them inside, that was it for our light, that didn't work anyway...But it certainly is fun doing that time.... The rain showers were so warm in the summer when we were growning up we were allowed to go outside with bars of soap and pretend to take showers..with our clothes on...go figure...just running around in the yard like we were looney...more fun fun fun....

That was fun. Learning while enjoying. It appears that you really enjoyed your childhood days. I would teach that also to my kids. Thanks for replying.

I used to wear a watch as well to learn how to tell the time. I dont' wear watches anymore I just now look at my phone. I used to have a pocket watch but it stopped working and I never got it fixed, was just easier jut looking at the phone, kind of a shame really.

I can relate with this. But now, I'm using my old watches to avoid my phone being misplaced.
