Hello there, It's not that I wanted to, though it's in my room but I couldn't use it. every single damn day i would wake up late in the morning doing other stuff immediately. it's like I never had proper time to exercise, not even walk outside the neighbor-hood. From what I can recall, you need to do warm ups and stretching before using the treadmill so that it won't hurt your legs so much. and then, stretching again afterwards, while drinking lots and lots of water. But time flies by, i can't do much of that now a days. Any tips on how i can slowly start over....

Hello LetranKnight25 I suggest that you get rid of the treadmill. And I don't mean hire it out for someone else to remove. You remove it yourself. This will give you more exercise than you're presently getting with it, and then it will also no longer be an eyesore and a constant source of guilt. After removing the treadmill, you will feel invigorated from all of this physical activity. So do something that you like to do. Walking on the treadmill is very the boring. Do something else that you like. Just do it a little bit every other day or so, then continue. Peace.

Hello Pageturner, Maybe that is your point of view that walking on the treadmill is boring. well, it can be if there's no music or tv where you can watch by it. I find it funny when you mentioned hiring some one to remove the threadmill. hey, am not that Fat enough not to carry this thing, it's still something very useful. but thanks for advice, i don't find it annoying to have the threadmill in my room.

Hello LetranKnight25 I did not mean to offend you, nor to suggest that you were anything but svelt and sleek. In fact, I suggest taht you NOT hire someone, but that you do it yourself, so that you could get the exercise with the treadmill. Walking on the treadmill is boring for me, even with the music or the television. I prefer to walk outside. That's just me. Do you hang the things from your treadmill?

Hi LetranKnight, i have the same problem as you do. for the past like 2 or 3 years, i have been telling myself to go and do some exercise. but due to many many reasons that i give myself, i have not been exercising. similarly, it's not that i do not have the time to exericse, just that i'm really lazy so i keep giving myself lots of excuses and keep saying that i don't have time. yep, doing warm up before exercising would lower the chance of us hurting ourselves. most importantly, i think you need a real and strong determination and make it as one of your goal to exercise. with determination, i think you will be able to do it.

Hello Dream_Ozn, I wish i don't have to wait that long just to remove my so called belly. i have experience jugging with out warm ups and it hurt my legs for like two days already. i don't know what should be the goal of loosing weight besides getting rid of my tummy but i guess staying healthy is one of the major reasons.

well you can manage time by multi-tasking, like watching or listening to newscast and running of the treadmill.

Hello Grayxenon, I have been trying to do multitasking. unfortunately, I ended up doing other works out here. that reminds me, i should have a television on my room, but i promised myself not to spend my earnings anymore. besides, i will follow the suggestion of whisker and that is to take it slow.

Hello Jai-sis, I hate it when my own promies are broken, most specially when it come to loosing weight. you know, i checked this site about the kind of body age that you have. I sign in the survey and then it was calculated that I have the body age of 37 even though am only 28. i feel sad about and plans to try and loose weight again. i don't want to have diabetes while i still don't have it.

Hello there, what makes you too busy so much? Are you working on a night shift thats why you woke up late in the morning? Be systematic in your work , whether in the office or at home; and set a time for your exercise. I guess a 15 to 30 mins of exercise is enough. Or you may set it on weekends.

Hello Nemrac, I don't think i can even use the threadmill if I was working. your right i could set it on week ends, that's not a bad idea at all. it can be very beneficial to my body. i can't afford to rant about this all the time, i must find a way to make a schedule. or else it's gonna cost me a lot of trouble. thanks and have a nice day.

do it slowly but surely, first start with 10 minutes a day then after one week, make it 15 minutes..... and so and so on. a slow transition so your body wont get shocked. Also play your favorite songs while using the threadmill, Look an average song is around 2 to 3 minutes. Just play 4 of your favorite songs, then keep on running on your threadmill until the play list is over, add few songs in the playlist as days or weeks progress. also keep this in to your mind, you are doing this because you want to live longer.

Hello CaptainWhisker, Thank you so much for this advice. but I usually starts in five minutes because i don't know if i can make that much if i haven't exercise in months. I was playing my favorite music then. unfortunately, as days goes by, some of those music aren't much of a motivation, but i will follow this advice of yours. thank you for sharing and have a nice day

If you're just going to walk in it not regularly, you don't really need warm up nor cool down. It's just like you walking around, do you stretch before you walk around the house? Just start with slower speeds for the first week or so, then gradually increase. Just walk at least 20-30 minutes slow pace first then increase it as you feel that there's no more challenge. Most of these machines have warm up and cool down features, use them so that you won't need to 'monitor', instead just hop and walk! hehe.. You don't even need to go the full 30 minutes the first few days. Just walk whenever you don't have anything to do, or while you're still thinking of MyLot topics to post. It's a good way to think. But of course, the most important tip here is: Stop Making Excuses Not To Use It! hehe.. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Hello Laydee, I think my first serious goal is sleeping early. to be honest, I tried using the treadmill out of desperation. what happened is that I got cramps and some leg problems because i couldn't make time for it. unfortunately, my treadmill's electrical stuff had been long disconnected before we were able to buy it since it's second hand. i hope this month is the right, i don't wanna loose my will again to loose weight.. anyways, thanks for sharing.

It is very hard to be able to get the motivation and the time to do some exercise, but if you're too busy to do any of it then you're probably active enough anyway! The thing that you're saying about the warm up is true, however you could use your treadmill to warm up and just start off walking and then build up the speed as and when you think you're ready to do so. This means that you would be able to save a little time and get some exercise done. Even if you only have a spare ten minutes then you should really do it, because a little exercise is better than no exercise at all.

I wish I had a treadmill. I could use the extra exercise. I had one when I lived in Florida. Kept it on my lanai so I could use it facing the lake. That was nice though when it got real hot I didn't use it at all.

A matter of self-discipline! Find a motivation to start over again, maybe it's just somewhere out there. Or maybe just give it away!

Hello TOni, I hope so but discipline when it comes to this is something i need to work on. before i thought i could continue but i was wrong and i couldn't afford to do it. but i'd make sure i loose a few pounds this time, compare to the last time.

this is my fear also when buying a threadmill, I'm afraid that it will not be usefull and will only eat much of the space in the house, but now that it is raining I am considering again to buy it, but the problem also is I am in a thrift mode and slashing off a budget for threadmill is not necessary for me this time, but still I really really wanted one, how I wish that the gym here is fully functional but its not. How I wish that you can use it and have a motivation to burn more calories everyday

I had the same problem for not being motivated to do any exercise for a long time and every day I would wake up and say to myself 'today is the day I get back to gym' and then I would again come up with hundreds of excuses why I couldn't get to the gym that day. Every day that passed by I could feel and see myself getting flabbier and flabbier. I was actually getting so fed up with myself for being so undisciplined that three days ago I said enough is enough! Without thinking about whether I should go to the gym or not, I just got up, dressed and went. If one thinks too much about should you exercise, believe me you will always come up with excuses. Just do it!:)

In my opinion, you should encorperate excersise in your daily routine. Jogging to your destination, carrying weights around the house, watching tv while running on the treadmill. Its hard to say, you should post your schedule. I may be able to help more. Main part of losing weight is to watch your diet. 3520 calories = 1 pound of fat. If you are not very active, i suggest a 1200 calorie/day diet. If you are doing things like typing, walking around the house a lot, yard work, for at least 3 hours, then 1700 calories. You burn about 1400 calories a day doing nothing.
