I know a friend who would be cooking fresh food for all the three meals. For me I try to cook twice in a day and if needed I would go for the third one. I wonder how others would be managing their cooking time? Do you prepare food for all the three meals time in a day or is it just two or one?

Hello dreamhome
I sure hope that your friend actually enjoys cooking the fresh food for all the three meals! Does your friend have a life outside of the cooking? I don't see how that would be possible, actually.
We typically cook the one meal a day. Sometimes we will cook the one big meal on the one day, and this will last for two or even the three days.
We typically eat one meal a day, but we do have snacks throughout the day.

He'll heat things up but I don't spend hours cooking. I'll cook dinner and that is it and it's normal a 30 minute meal that I'll do. I'll make my husband a sandwich for lunch which all I had to do is put the meat on the bread and put it in a bag before he leaves. Then I just heat up something for me and my daughter for lunch. Normal cereal or something that requires not cooking for breakfast. Then I'll heat something up for lunch for the two of us after a nap and then I cook something for dinner or my husband will cook something for dinner.

OK, so I am a trained cullinarian, and I can definitively see how this is possible.
1. start your morning with an omlette for breakfast, they're quick to make, and easy, not to mention tasty.
2. cut up a salad for lunch, you know what you like in it, If its for your mate, ask them what they like on it, make it hardy, so you/they don't starve, but salad are easy.
3. for supper, just cook a pasta, and no matter if you go all out, or make the sauce from a kit, you cant go wrong, and, your noodles will take like 15-30 minutes to boil, I just make the sauce while mine is boiling. pm me for recepies.

Are you talking to me or to the person that started the discussion?
Because if your telling me I don't care because I would never do that. I'm a busy mom and the first thing in the morning I"m not cooking for anyone I don't give a crape who they are if they want to eat they can do it themselves. I'm not a maid. You get what you get in my house other wise you do it yourself.

Thanks for sharing dear dreamhome .
Yes i always cook fresh for breakfast, lunch and dinner
And also for the snacks in the evening, no one in my home will eat food that is cooked, kept in freeze and warmed

Lunch and Dinner is kind of a big deal, so yes, I cook fresh both times, usually. Unless I have ingredients ready for a put-together meal, or we order in. Usually, breakfast will be cooked also, because my father likes something hot to eat if possible. But this is not a compulsion and we can have cold breakfasts too. I do not eat any breakfast at all [only when I am really hungry in the morning], so my third meal is a little snack in the evening. That could be some instant noodles or junk food, or leftovers. Nothing elaborate.

I cook lunch and dinner normally every day, but breakfast I kind of cook for. One day a week I cook biscuits and pancakes and freeze them. The biscuits I put eggs and meats in them and freeze them to be reheated later, same with the pancakes. This way my kids and hubby can have a good breakfast without me having to get up at 6am to cook. I really love to cook, but I am not a morning person. I sometimes do the same thing for lunch I cook enough the night before and leave some that can be used for lunch the next day. If I can do anything in advance I will try so that if I am doing something else I will not have to stop for a long time to cook.

Although I am not a master chef but I know some basic cooking, and yes, I do cook three meals in a day if I have some decent amount of time to prepare such.
But mostly for breakfast, I do cook my own meal but sometimes for lunch or dinner, I do depend on my Sister to do the cooking since I am living with my family and she can manage working and cooking as well since we are both working online it is somehow reliable to do multi-tasking such as cooking at the same time working via the internet.

I only cook dinner in the evening, because I work for the whole of the day and this means that I don't really have the time to be able to think about cooking three times in one day. I usually just have a bowl of cereal in the morning because of the fact that it is quick and easy, and means that I can start work almost as soon as I get out of bed. For lunch I don't normally bother because I work through, so I will usually just have a snack, and then concentrate on having a lovely dinner which I know that I am going to enjoy with my family after I have finished work.

I do not eat 3 meals a day that mean cooking much. Usually my breakfast is bread and something with it, be it cheese, cold cuts, pate, jams. My lunch is the biggest meal and I cook that one. But even then, sometimes I cook twice the amount and freeze part of it. Sauces fall into that category. Dinner is usually another cup of coffee with something light. It can be an omelette with something leftover, some leftover soup, a salad. Not even when I have parties do I spend too long a time in the kitchen even though I love to cook.

I really get tyred if I cook the 3 meals in a day , In the morning I just eat some bread maid by me the day before or which I bought. For lunch time , I warm some leftover from dinner or buy out, for dinner usually I cook . Everyday is not the same. When I cook for dinner I try to cook good recepies from my books or net. I am always thinking what can be new , I like variety.

My mother used to cook food twice for all the meals in a day. She used to cook light food for breakfast and she used to prepare rice, curries and other items for lunch and for supper. I fell well comfortable with those food because all her dishes and foods are too tasty.

i am with you dreamhome...that seems like a lot of cooking and eating! my grandmothers both cooked three meals a day and between meals too, (desserts and snacks) but the psychoartist trained for a career and thus was gone to work much of the day and mostly cooked an evening meal...now that there is nobody home but mr. psychoartist and myself we have one main cooked meal a day in mid-afternoon and supplement with small snacks and drinks throughout the day...however, even though we are eating less than we did when we were young, the meals seem to stick with the psychoartist more...one of the gifts of aging...

good day dreamhome,
before i do usually does cooking those 3 meals. that was when me and my bestfriend are living together. that we helped each other to prepare for the 3 meals. hence it is tiring but we are happy doing those chores. but, for now, everything has been changed. since we are living separately, thus, i did not continue doing it anymore.

When my son was still single, Me and my wife would usually be the ones left at home. I would fill the rice cooker in the morning for breakfast then reheat what is left for our lunch and dinner. If the ref is empty, we just buy our viand from the restaurant or when we both don't feel like cooking.
