Does anyone out there really believe that the world will end on Friday December 21 2012 ,because according to Nostradamus the mayans and the hopi all the signs are there personally i dont believe it some people might feel panicked as the time draws near but if we believe what is stated in the bible not even jesus christ knows when that day will come, the father in heaven is the only person of the holy trinity that knows the date, a lot of people are making plenty of money by preying on peoples fears some will never learn all these people and organisations all they have to do is to frame the next date after December 21 will pass by.

To my mind, all the prediction about doomsday are lies and bullsh*t. And as you mentioned, many people live on such lies. I just wonder why a lot of people believe it despite developing science.

Hello and welcome to mylot :D. Actually the calendar Mayans used is different from ours (it didn't count for leap years) so I believe the date at which the calendar ran out of space has already gone by. Not that I really believe in any type of prophecy anyway but somehow, I think, no one really does. However there are some days that waking up is harder than usual, and smiling is extremely difficult. In those days even I, who don't believe in prophecy, hope (not believe) that the world do end soon. So maybe it's not about something as negative as fear, but instead some kind of longing for this, every "this" we exist in, to change in any way. This world is boring, so maybe thinking that it will end is more of a coping mechanism, like when you go to the dentist and all you are thinking is what you will do afterwards :).
