I live in Europe and have seen most of the European countries. When Yugoslavia split up it made a number of different countries and I have been to Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia. I haven't been to its other countries. I haven't been to Island yet and I didn't manage to visit Cyprus either. I wish to travel to Ukraine and Albania which I haven't been to before.
To reach Albania I would get a budget flight to Corfu and then a ferry. I be able to visit Ukraine I would get a cheap flight to Poland and the just on a train. I would find Iceland way too expensive to go to. I would be able to get a cheap package to Cyprus.
How about you in the continent that you live in?
Do you dream of visiting a particular country?
If so how could you reach it cheaply?

I have visited many of the other European countries and I have travelled around by bus, by train and by plane. I was able to get some really cheap tickets when I travelled around by bus, but it wasn't the most comfortable way to travel. I prefer to travel by train. Like you I want to visit Ukraine. I know that there is a train from Warsaw in Poland to Kiev in Ukraine and I am thinking about combining an interrail trip in Eastern Europe with a trip to Ukraine. Ukraine is not among the countries that you can visit with a global interrail pass, but Poland is included so I would be able to buy a separate train ticket for Ukraine in Poland.
I am also interested in visiting Albania, but I am not sure how I would get there. In western Europe I want to visit Portugal. I have never been there. I have been to the suth of Spain, but I would like to visit Madrid and Barcelona as well and I would combine it with a trip to Portugual, and maybe I would also visit Morocco on the same trip.

It is an excellent idea to visit Spain and Portugal then pop down to Morocco. Yes, you could travel to the Polish and Ukraine border then covered on your inter rail ticket then get another ticket on to Kiev. You might be able to travel by train to Italy then take a ferry over to Albania. It is a shame not all European countries are included on an inter rail pass. I like a website called Man in Seat 61 and he gives ideas of how to each cheap train tickets. Good luck with visiting Ukraine and the other countries too.

@maximax8 I think that I visited that website in the past. Portugal is one of the European countries where I haven't been yet, and I am especially interested in going there. I have been to Spain a couple of times, but it would still be nice to spend some more time there. Ukraine and Albania are still part of my travel wishlist as well, but I will probably visit Portugal first.

@Porcospino I am so pleased to see that you are still on My Lot. Portugal has some of Europe's best beaches and Lisbon is a very beautiful capital city for it. Albania has very low prices so I think you would find it very affordable. The Ukraine is like Poland 20 years ago. Yes, it is amazing.

There are some countries in South America that I can reach in a cheaper way by bus. But I have to check the amount of time I would be on the bus as South America is a big continent. If I want to go from where I live (Santiago de Chile) to Arica (the city farthest north) by bus, it would probably take a whole day. I will rather spend that day on vacations and seek for an unexpensive plane (more expensive than a bus though). It also happens to other countries, so I already know which airlines have cheaper flights.

Distances in South America are long and it could indeed take many hours to travel by bus from Santiago to Arica. I enjoyed the bus journeys that I did in South America. In the day time the scenery was superb. I can understand why you would prefer to fly on a plane. It is wonderful that you will be traveling to St Maartin my dear friend. Hug.

There are some really good ideas for people there to be able to see places cheaply! I tend to look for good deals via work as I still work within the travel industry and use this to my advantage! I am doing a trip to Cyprus at the end of this week for just a few days and hopefully then Ireland in October but, if it wasn't for my job, I wouldn't be doing these two trips due to funds this year!

Due to your job you are getting some fantastic trips this year. Yes, due to the recession many people have low funds that is why cheap traveling ideas are necessary. I hope that you will really enjoy Cyprus and then Ireland this autumn.
In the days before computers I booked my airline tickets at travel agencies listed in the free magazines given out in London like Trail Finders. In 2001 I was at the beginning of my internet days. I managed to book train tickets in California using the internet. Now I use the internet to compare flight prices.

Hi Maxine,
I'm an Asian and live in the continent of Asia. I have a desire to visit most of the Asian countries. My first preference is China the ancient civilized nation. I have a plan to visit China by minimum cost. I shall fly to Cumming the nearest city of China from our country. From there I can avail train and go to Beijing. The Great Wall is not far from Beijing. The train network of China is very advanced. So there will be no problem to visit China by train.

It is good than you see the world. I also really love going to different places but well I don't have the opportunity to go in other countries. Well I really want to see London because one day I think to go and work there. Also I want to visit Parish the country of the love. Cheaply I'm not so sure how. I know that there are legit sites that include foreign country vacations and they are really cheap.

Your best way would be an around the world ticket from America and then on to Europe then you could go to Australia. Your route could be America-England-Scotland-Denmark-Norway-Australia-America. A better idea would be a cheap ticket America to Europe then Australia on a trip in the future.
