This movie is in the Library here(3 copies I think). I have seen several on the topic, but I have a cure for my depression... proud resistance!I quit taking the pills(those things make it worse in MHO) I am trying to stay possitive. When I am perplexed, I throw it out for the world to solve and see who is dealing with it best, then try that approach. MY Jewish Tahnaka BIBLE has helped alot these last 2 years.

Theres another movie by Tom Hanks that is about a volleyball with a name, but I forget. I can imagine being stranded alone on an island where there is no help for my depressed mind. That would suck!

you are right, himadrisaha! mr. psychoartist and i are very good fans of forrest gump! it is an inspiring and funny and heart-warming movie! our family is from the city where some of the movie was filmed, savannah, georgia (usa) and i have seen the bench which forrest sits on in the movie in the historical museum there...we love this movie so much that we have seen it over and over and we quote parts of it to each other...we went to a shrimp restaurant in charleston, south carolina called bubba gumps...if you ever visit charleston you would enjoy eating there...they have a lot of items from the movie and the movie plays continually in all corners of the restaurant...you are right...this movie makes you feel better and think better as well!

You might find this movie uplifting, but it's hardly a cure for depression. Personally, I don't like Forest Gump very much. It's an outrageous string of exceptionally lucky events happening to someone who didn't seem to be born that lucky at first. It's cute, and funny in places, but it's not all that uplifting to me because it's a piece of highly fabricated fiction.

you provide the details of a movie, but don't mentioned the name of the movie. What is the name of the movie? is your title is the name? i am interested in watching the movie, as your topic impressed me a lot and made me to get interest with that movie.

Forrest Gump is a great movie. It can really boost your confidence in life as the story involves a man who is not very smart and he retold his life story and how he's been through everything and experience every sadness that happen in his life but he just keeps on going forward.

I first saw this movie when my boys were young and they begged me to take them.I had been very busy at the time and had not seen the commercial about it on tv yet. So,I said,ok just to shut them up. But,I am so glad that I agreed to take them.As we were walking out of the theatre I was saying,"Wow,that was Tom Hanks!" The acting job was so great that I was really thinking that was Forest Gump!An actual, real person! The story was also great also! I just love that movie! I told my son's that as soon as it came out on VHS I'd be the first one to get itAnd I was too!

Yes, himadrisaha, I agree with you that this movie, the Forrest Gump, can be inspirational. Mr. Gump never gives up despite all the people who use him for their own (sometimes evil) purposes throughout the movie. Mr. Gump perseveres in his innocence and it is inspiring.
