Many Filipinos say, our country is a 3rd world country because the government is corrupt, then I realized one thing, there are countries with Government more corrupt than what we have yet they were not a 3rd world country. There are countries who currently struggle with Wars worst than us yet their Economy is still flourishing. There are countries with evil governments as in super damn freaking EVIL that Satan will be in shame yet they have higher GDP than us.
Even with the worst government, a country will do well if the PEOPLE will do what they gotta do. I am sure you can do your part.

There's an old saying "It takes two to tango," but if all we do is just rely on the government on everything and we'll do nothing, then nothing will happen, because no matter who we'll elect the next president, the next thing we'll see are some angry demonstrators with cards written with "Ibagsak ang rehimeng US - ______ (put name here).

Once of the problem of our country is that most of the poor people just rely too much to the government and most of them blame their misery on it. There are so many ways to be progressive with our own feet.

Blame or rely on government? Perhaps but how about the people who elected them? Can we also blame them or rely on them as being good citizens of our country
As for me, I would just work and work and work to the best of my ability, I don't rely on our Government in the same manner ignorant and vote selling voters rely on corrupt Government officials. If ever I rely or blame, it's because I pay my taxes but seems that those who rely the most and the loudest to blame are mostly those who don't contribute anything and worst use up our resources by having too many children they can not support

I think Filipinos should stop having the mentality of being an employee, I think we as a nation should have the mentality of an entrepreneur. thankfully our country is actually part of the top 10 most corrupt countries so there is hope.

typo correction, Our country is not a part of the top 10 most corrupt. Our school system never thought us how to be a leader, How to be an individual, our school system is not customized based on students skills and needs.

I guess right now we have enough inteliigent people that want it their way than just cooperate with one another just what like Japan did to their country. We are still very divided when we talk about nationalism. I think we have over thought of who we really are and we have different views about it that makes our country fragmented and we have to deal with it.

Instead of the Filipino pride thing and relying on some Filipino person who gets successful on his/her own merit, we should all try to be successful with out own merit.

We should not rely everything on the government. As people of the nation, we should always do our share. We are all responsible for the growth and downfall of our country.

We should not relay on Philippine government. It is their responsibility to help and support his people but every Filipino must also do their part to survive and get out in "rat race". If we keep depending to our Government then nothing will happen to us and to our country. As i observe years from now our country will be at critical stage since a lot of baby boomers relay on their pensions, health care and etc., the funds are insufficient to address all the concerns.

The families of OFW's should also be trained on how to manage the money earned for them. Because a lot of OFW still lives in poverty after slaving themselves abroad cos their family are not good with financial management.

Basically the one that feed's our country's economy are ofw's. I think ofw's should be trained on how to expand their money because they were the one that keeps our economy alive.,

OFW's are also encountering problems with our government.
If only the money gathered from OFW's are put in good use. OFWs would have been happier to help.

That's because a lot of people want to put themselves down, maybe a way for them to be humble but in a lot of cases they're becoming too humble for their own good. Examples are people not having enough pride of their work, and those are evident on the word "lang" to what ever they do, driver lang, titser lang, manager lang etc. but in reality we're in a better place compared to others. The problem with a lot of us is that we have that "grass is greener on the other side" kind of mindset, that's why a lot are going abroad because they thought that a job abroad is the answer to their problems here, which sadly turn true in most cases . I've had neighbors who are already well off since she already has apartments for rent and her kids are all grown up but decided to migrate to the US and guess what? end up wiping assess in a nursing home. I know she has her reasons but I just don't get it.

sorry for the late response, I just got tired from my Job and I rested my eyes off the computer for few days.
Apartments, That is one of my future plans in life, to be a land lord who is living the life to the fullest because he doesnt worry much about money cos his tenants pay him money every month. I can pursue different hobbies and passions while not worrying about money. I also have this very ambitious goal, to make business sky scrapers that runs in solar power.

I don't really know which country you are talking about that is freaking evil and still have higher GDP, they may have higher GDP but I think they are not really as flourish as they seem to be, infact I don't know anything about statistics, all I know is that if only this corrupt officials would stop corrupting the peoples money, we won't be as poor as we are right now. Yes, some filipinos can be hard headed, they break the rules and all but if the authorities are honest enough to pass the rules to this rule breakers instead of making money out of it, they will be tamed and the people will have no choice but to follow the rules, its either they follow or face the consequence. If there are no under the tables they wont be doing the same mistakes over and over again. So for me its mainly because of corruption.

a negative trait of many Filipinos are buying more than what they have, not thinking and investing about their future. A person can actually be rich even if they dont own a business if they were thrifty. Most of my co-employees are sucking their salary dry with those branded apparel.
