What is the best iPad case?

I need a new case for my iPad 2. I had one - spent about $30 on it- my daughter dropped the iPad once and the plastic case broke (it did protect the iPad...but that's not a durable case!).
I'm looking for an case that is durable, but not bulky since I put my iPad in a sleeve when not in use. I've looked online and have not found a case (other than one that looks like a huge plastic box) that is supposed to be super durable. I need something that will still protect the screen from falls if the case is open (so no portfolio types).
Any suggestions?

Wal-Mart and Target both have pretty good ones. They're durable and pretty inexpensive. You can check them out online or just go into a store.

I've looked at Target and Best Buy. Target had 2 cheap looking ones and Best Buy had 1 otter box and the rest were leather portfolios (which doesn't work for my 2 yr old). I've spent a lot of time looking online and have come up empty handed. That is why I'm asking for suggestions :)
I may just end up buying a portfolio with a detachable key board and hoping my 2 yr old doesn't ruin the leather.
