Topics which are forever reply-less...

I've recently seen a lot of topics started on myLot which end up with no replies at all.
I actually have one myself lol.
Anyway, what motivates you to reply to a topic? Is it your knowledge, your socialism, or just simply because you want to make a bit of extra cash?
Also, why do you think some topics are left with no replies?

There are a lot of reasons why topics are left reply-less. Perhaps people didn't see it as something they could relate to. Another would be that perhaps people didn't see it or didn't know that the topic existed in the first place.
Don't worry, I have a lot of those, which is why I decided that it's best and easier to just respond to topics brought by other people instead of opening topics on my own. Though there are topics where I really would like to know what others think, and if that's the case I would open it. It is frustrating though when you try your best to make the topic sound attractive enough for people to read and respond, then nothing happens! hehehe..
Anyhow, don't worry about it, soon you'll see that old topics would soon have answers.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Unfortunately, because of the way myLot is, most people are only here to make a bit of extra money (me included). However, during their time here, it seems like some people actually change their opinion and use myLot as a tool to further their knowledge and social skills.
Ultimately, the first thing which drives us all here is money.
Nevertheless, it's good to see people replying to some topics with very useful information, and creating a topic worthy of a discussion, or even a conversation.

Yes, there are topics that receive only few or no responses at all. Most of them are about a subject where most people doesn't know or no knowledge about it. They are too narrow and too specific that's why people avoid responding to it. To avoid having discussions without response, we should always make sure that our topic is general and many people can relate to it. What motivates me to respond to a topic is when I find it interesting or if I have something that I can share about it. Good day!

Most of the time now, what motivates me to reply to a topic is the person who made the topic. I tend to stay in the group of people who've been here the longest. They seem to interest me as they write things on their daily lives and advice, or ask for advice.
As for why topics are left with no replies, it can be that they've been repeated way too much, are about sports, or aren't understood by any members here.

I think that's a fair way to look at things, but ultimately, you wouldn't be giving us newbies a chance. So saying that, you replied to me, so at least I interest you lol
Either way, it seems like the veteran members always have something good and constructive to say :)

My goal is to share my knowledge about the topic and also earn money.
Some topics are left with no replies because others find it uninteresting to spend their time with.. :)

For me, I only reply those topics that I have knowledge of or experience with. And it makes me feel better if i can help someone, especially when it comes to making them feel better or giving them some friendly tips and advise. Other than that, I usually reply topics such as iPhone or android....( just for extra info, my answer is and will always be apple :P ).. but basically, i answer to practice making ppl feel better cause I'm thinking of maybe doing some counseling work in the future :)

Hello carben44. I see you are a new mylotter. Topics without replies are an interesting occurence. Participation on mylot is quite beneficial, and however one replies is up to him or her. A reply-less topic in my opinion indicates that the mylotter that put up the topic may be one that is somewhat "disenfranchised". I am a returning mylotter that got back in the swing after 5 years. I have posted a few topics since my return that seem to get less response than others, but I will always continue to post. Give your reply-less topic some time. Some of my older topics have been getting more replies, and as long as it is a beneficial choice to reply, someone somewhere will reply sooner or later. I usually discuss what is on my mind. If I am mistaken or unclear about a discussion, fellow mylotters are welcome to reply accordingly. I also reply to topics I can relate to. It makes replying better when it is based on my understanding and opinions.

carben44 as people here start reading the guidelines and know that certain discussions have broke a mylot guideline rule, more are
refusing to answer poll type discussions that have broken a guideline
'rule. I have found myself starting to respond only to move away as I see the title asks a poll type.see if we respond to a discussion that will be deleted we also lose our response and the earnings from it.
'also I find if I am not interested its hard to make an intelligent
response to a discussion. what motives me to respond is an interesting legal intelligent discussion that I can respond to with
an equally good response.now if the person only writes discussions on cricket or soccer that leaves me cold as I know nothing about either sport so my answer would be worthless. Some topics really leave most people cold spe cially on religion and politics as those are battle
zones here. people get really nasty and forget their manners
completely. so I do not bother with them. I am not a fighter atall.

I also have posts with either no or have 2 or 3 responses. I don't know why but maybe because no one has interest on it or they don't know what I am talking about. Or maybe the title is not catchy, haha. Anyway, I make response to a post I can tell something about or it should be of my interest.

Yeah I've seen some topics of mine, either no one has seen it or not much replies. I'm guessing people like to answer topics that they feel like answering. Some of the ones I posted, there are some that is 0 to 1 replies.
Some people are picky with answering topics. I don't know if I care or not, lol.

i only comment to a post that i know the answer, if i dont know the answer, why i must talk about bulshit, it will use less, and i woldn't comment on the pointles, and was rule breaking my lot, it will be useless too, because they will delete that post, and any tihing that was gained from that post, hope you learn some thing.

Well, its obvious some people want to make money... Theres not a lot of forums that pay you for simply posting lol. I post on discussions that relate to me, for example this discussion. Its easy to answer, and its pretty fun to think of the answers. Knowledge is also another reason I would post. For me, I am Kanaka maoli (native hawaiian) and many people think hawaiians are stupid and just spend time at the beach. If I could find a discussion that would prove against that, of course I would post.
