Surekha:
How are you? How is son-in-law? Hope he is fine. I was sending SMS at least three or four in a day when it was free for some scheme--i do not remember the details now. Now I think we have to pay rS.18 per month or so in airtel to get 100 sms every day. I am not using it.
Students tell me they use this facility for chatting thro sms with their friends.youngsters normally prefer smsing.

I think you can save some money buy sending sms instead of calling them. Because many network providers allow free sms system.

I am not in favor of sending sms, because i know many don't read the sms' ; you know these days nasty messages come to cell phones; so many like me just delete them, i prefer talking only, moreover hearing ones voice has its own charm..

Hi,
SMS (short message service)if treated as just time pass, then its not me always. I do receive / send text messages which are sometimes important ones that include from colleagues and boss too. So the official ones can't be just avoided. Some of my friends sent lovely goodmorning/ good evening/nite sms etc which i do read but not necessarily respond. Also i have stored few very good messages received from friends and relatives which, i considered as very touching lines. It is always the same even when the mobile was new. The wishes on our special days are always responded wtih thanks.
These days there are packages which gives us cheap rates so rather than calling people prefer SMS.
Have a nice time...

Sms is quite cheaper than calling so I use it all the time. I do call if it is emergency or urgent.

Moreover if we are travelling in bus or train, we could not hear the voice clearly. There may be some disturbance from outside. So I prefer message than calling.
Surely, message may not cost much as calling. Sometimes I may be having offers for the message. Then I gone on messaging others .

I was a SMS addict before. I could just send text messages all day to multiple friends. It my country they provide us promos like unlimited text for one day or 5 days. I availed to the 5 days promo and I was obviously abusing it. There came a time that I was restricted to avail of any unlimited texting promo of my service provider. and I got pissed.
But that was then, now, I am not anymore like that, I only use my phone occasionally, when I need to reply to someone or call them.
Not anymore for leisure but for important matters.

i really used to like sending and love to receive a lot of messages. but recently because i am just too busy with work and that i am totally always almost doing anything i can think of... so there goes the time to text and besides it is actually a bit too much time consuming.

I really hate to talk on the phone, so I prefer text messaging. Email or social networks are also awesome for me.

I was a text addict when i got my first phone. I was a teenager in those times. Now as a young adult, I only text if it is necessary. I am presently more into chatting with my colleagues and friends in Facebook using mobile phone for the reason that it would not cost me any cents and it is more convenient on me.

I prefer to make a call via mobile phone, but if it is not convenient to make a call, I sent text messages for contacting my friends or colleagues.

Hi. I think I am one of those who are not fond of making calls or sending SMS-es even though I always bring my mobile and smartphone. I guess the reason being I need my mobile is for emergency only and smartphone for browsing the internet. Sometimes even when other people contact me I tend to end the call fast. It's maybe because I spend 8 hours in the office making calls and answering phones that I feel lazy to use my mobile. Sometimes, when I receive SMS-es especially during working hours, I would quickly read through it and put the device back inside the drawer. If it's urgent, I will try to reply as soon as I can and if not, I will think about the messages and usually I'll reply them sometime later, but then again, I have this habit of always checking my phone if there are any missed calls or messages.

My friend, i don't send an SMS, if it's not important. I don't even send those quotations or whatever, because for me it's an unnecessary expense.
But when i am sent a quotation, i would text back, "thank you" of course as an acknowledgment.

I've had a cell phone since I was 13 or 14, so it's been about six or seven years now. When I first got my phone without the qwerty keyboard ages ago, I was actually into texting all of my friends...Which is sort of ironic, because now that I've had full keyboard phones and whatnot, I don't like to put any effort into texting! I get really frustrated with my keyboard and the touch screen. I'll text once in awhile, but I'd rather have someone call me. It's much easier and much more direct.

Yes. I love to send message through my mobile. I sometimes I may be chatting with my friends by SMS. I love it. this is one of my major time pass. I used to send wishes like good morning, good night via mobile almost all days.
More than SMS I used to send message via Instant message and MMS. Via MMS I could send and share my images with my friends.
