Dont like the site too much but I love the movie based on it- The social Network. Have you seen it..?

The Social Network - a must watch.
Even though there exists the fact that some parts of the movie were different from what is reality (since the movie is based from a book which is based from the statements of Zuckerberg's co-founder), it is still a good movie since it basically shows how and why Facebook came to place.
The only sad thing is most people only see the "falsehoods" that are present in the movie but they do not see what was in Zuckerberg's mind - innovation, one of the most important things an entrepreneur needs to become rich like Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, etc.

also the way women are depicted in the movie something of a sore point. but overall its a great movie, one of the best i have seen.

I'm on it, because I love the direction of social networking. When I'm working, is when I'm looking at it the least. I mean, I have work to do!
One of the best things about Facebook, is with that, I know about when events that my friends set up are happening, or, I put up a location where I am, and if a friend is nearby and sees it, the two of us meet up. It works out really great.

i find that Facebook is popular amongst the teenaged set. both my daughters who are teenagers both love the site. both hubby and i have accounts but we mostly use the site for work contacts. i go on it almost every day but barely spend more than 5 minutes on it. i find it sort of boring to be honest.

Facebook is popular because people are nosy. Yet, most of what people say on there is a lie anyway. People love gossip. Facebook makes thing so that people find out all your business...true and false.

Facebook is the number one social networking website for many years. I still remember my early days at facebook there was no friends for me there. But, now everyone joins to facebook I have so many friends in it 
. And I love to talk with them

LOL NO!!!! People spend too much time on facebook I think because there is a glut of fast-paced information geared to their interests (in the form of friends' updates, page posts, news topics etc) coming in at them and it activates certain parts of the emotional brain.

I think that the main reason that it was so popular at the beginning was that it was a student website, and you could get to know a lot of things about the people who were signing up to it. Then, word got around, and everybody wanted to sign up. Human beings are nosy, and social networking websites give you the chance to find out a lot about people that you wouldn't have got the chance to find out about otherwise, which has to be a good thing. Also it helps people to brag about the good things that are going on in their lives as well, which a lot of people like to take advantage of over the internet.

I think what makes a social networking interesting is that all your friends/ family members/ celebrities you like have one. If they have one you're going to want to have one to be updated on whats going on in there lives or for you not to miss on anything. Since friends & family have facebook that will be the best way to communicate with them.
People always want to try out the "popular things". Not only social networks but other stuff ex. newest phones.
There are many reasons why people join facebook : family, business, etc.
