I love eating out at fine restaurants but hate that they are so expensive. Whenever my client comes to town they take me out to eat. They were here this week and we went to Ruth Chris Steak House. The bill was over 900 dollars for 7 people!! It was so delicious! Does anyone have a favorite expensive restaurant?

I don't know if I have a favorite EXPENSIVE restaurant because we don't go to enough of them for me to know - ha ha! Holy cow about the 900 dollar bill - but I guess they can write these things off as a business expense if it was your client! I can think of a few super expensive restaurants, but the name escapes me. My hubby's ex boss used to take them out to very ritzy restaurants for lunch and the boss would always pay for them - and one time we all went to dinner there (the place had something to do with trains - it was called something something Station). I remember they had the most delicious steak there . . . but I have no idea what the bill came out to. With my hubby, I went to this Tango place (again, I can't remember the name) . . . it was a nice romantic Argentine place, we had a beautiful steak meal and tango dancing to go with it . . . the bill, in the early 90's turned out to be like $150 for both of us. THAT was way too much for us, but that was a once in a blue moon kinda thing!!!

Wow!! I guess I now know why I have never ate there. This would be really past my expenses. For my husband and I, we love Red Lobster. It can easily run us over $70 to go there. But in reality, the food is definately worth it. To me that is expensive enough and something we usually have to plan and save up for.

I normally go to places where you can eat and have a soda for about 15 per person. I only usually go to the expensive places when someone else is paying or if I have a great coupon.

I don't eat at expensive restaurants myself. I always look for great food that's good value for money. If they use the same produce then why pay more for it? I just can't justify paying so much money for a meal but guess that's just how I was brought up. If somene else was buying though and wanted to go to an expensive restaurant then I'd go :)

My sentiments exactly - lol. It's the same meat, veggies, etc. It's paying for the service and atmospher.

Yeah you know I've been to some places that are a bit more expensive and it all tastes the same, sometimes the cheaper places are better! And you know eventually it just comes out the other end anyway so what's the point? :D

If I had to pay for it - I would not enjoy it as much. I would be worrying about how much it cost! lol

That sounds like a lot of money for such a small amount of people, and I know that there is no way that I would ever be able to go to anywhere like that for that reason. I don't like to go to places where you have to spend a lot of money, because of the fact that you can get food much more cheaply from other places without having to spend a stupid amount of money on the food that you're eating. I know that I would enjoy it a lot more if I knew that I was getting a bargain rather than knowing that I was having to pay far too much for the food.

I don't usually visit expensive restaurants. My husband and I are saving up for a trip at the moment and we prefer to eat at home in order to save money. My ex-boyfriend and I sometimes visited the expensive restaurant in our town. My ex-boyfriend loved that place, but I prefer places that are less expensive. The food in that restaurant was delicious, but I wasn't really able to relax, everything was so elegant and formal. Today I live in a different town and I haven't been to that restaurant since my ex-boyfriend and I broke up.

I agree with you, some places make it hard to relax because it is so stiff and snooty. You can be yourself and relax more at the neighborhood hangouts.

Favorite has nothing to do with expensive over here. Fact is most restaurants are expensive, they seldom have the kind of food (taste/quality/service) I have in mind. I don't go to restaurants over here anymore since I do find it a waste of money. I can cook myself, cook what I like for way less money and then it will be served the way I like.

Some restaurants are really expensive so we just eat there if there are special and important occasions.I better prefer eating at fast foods or just at home where foods are really tasty and delicious.

I have a good restaurant in my town with good delicious with normal charges. I mostly used to have food from there if we are out from our house. The only problem is that there will be a lot of people there to have the food. This is the one the thing which I feel uncomfortable there.
