I don’t know guys, but I find it so amusing that some people keeps on posting anything that they have to eat, where they are and what they are doing at that moment. Are they not doing something productive other than that? I feel like they are already bragging . Your opinion guys please?

Yeah. I have friends in Facebook who keep posting updates about their life. They post everything like what they are doing right now and stuff like that. I find it very annoying.

These kind of postings are rubbish to me. I skip them all.

There's twitter for those kind of updates. Anyway it would be irritating if someone posts every action he/she makes. If this happens to anyone I'd suggest to "hide" that person from your news feed. That way you'd have a good day.

Stalking eh? Well if it is for the better then there is no problem with it. Some of my relatives also monitor my internet activities through Facebook but I am not moved by it since they do not really care about me. All they do is correct what I did wrong but if I did something right I do not get enough appreciation.

No, it's not actually stalking, because i get to comment on some nice pics also and get to chat with her because she's in a far city from us here in the province. . If i don't find the postings nice, i just skip it.

Well, this particular person is my niece. I cannot hide her because i keep track of where she keeps going and tell her mother about it, who seldom opens her facebook because they don't have internet at home.

Hi SIMPLYD, I find it's really bored and monotonous to post on fb as well. The people in my friends list doing the same tedious things mentioned above. Other than playing certain shooting games for a short while to get refreshed after working on the screen for a long time, I seldom visit the site. May be this has become the lifestyle of them to say something they feel proud or depressed therefore almost everyone doing the similar thing every now and then. It's meaningless too notification informing me the birthday of friends for the week happen to send to my mailbox almost daily. I prefer to type post here rather than to do such tedious thing all the time. May be it's quite bored some offline friends there don't show up themselves recently as well Have a nice day and happy posting

Yeah, to avoid having any dispute as well as conflict it's wise to skip from undesirable comments. I'm not an active user of fb anyway. I don't simply add friend to my list when there is any when browsing the site sometimes Happy posting

Me too, i don't just add friends for the sake of increasing them. I just would like my FB account to my closest friends and relatives. In fact , i set it into "only my friends" , are the ones who can view my photos.

People who dislikes such postings of his friends would really not like to be always at Facebook. He/she finds them annoying, so in order not to be stressed they rather stay away from facebook. But then, one can always unfriend them, right. However, the person might get offended though. So, might as well just skip them with no comment at all.

Precisely. I used to do that actually but then i realized there is no point in doing that other than bragging. So i made a new account, with less people bragging so it wont also provoke me from doing so lol..and now all i do there is just send messages to friends and nothing else..unless i feel like posting a quote for the day.. which i rarely do. But i do have friends who always posts unnecessary stuff..

From among my friends at FB i can say that there are two or 3 of them actually. One of them is my niece. I would even tell her, "why do you still have to post a kitkat chocolate?" . A cadbury is even more expensive and delicious than that? And she would say, "wala lang", (just nothing) . So, you were formerly one of those who would post anything for the sake of posting, jazel.

Well, it does say on Facebook "What's on your mind?" for the update status - and so I guess people feel free to put whatever they want - even if it is just what exactly they're eating or doing at the moment (hee hee - I'm even guilty of that). Most of the time I post what I did with the kids that particular day - and I'll often post photos. But apparently some people don't care for that either (one friend posted why people posted repetitive shots of their babies and their stupid faces as all the photos look the same - in her opinion). I personally like seeing other people's kids and families - so to each their own - everyone has their likes and dislikes. I yawn when I see people posting quotes from famous people - but still I respect their posts and move on.

Ha ha. Don't you love the ones where they tell you what coffee they are drinking and then post a photo of it too? Yah, sometimes it just is too much - hee hee!!

It's okay to see photos of the family members or activities that we have just undergone. But to post of even the coffee you are drinking, is simply annoying already. Of course i just skip them.

I can relate to what you mean. I see people on Facebook posting things that are truly irrelevant. It's obvious that they are looking for attention. I've cut back a lot on how often I post on Facebook. I mainly just use it now for sharing articles and links. In the end, I think it all boils down to attention. Some of these people view Facebook as a popularity contest. You would expect that type of thing from kids, but adults are doing it also. Kinda pitiful when you think about it.

I am really wondering why some people would just be posting anything at Facebook. And there is one friend of mine who also would post his hatred for some relatives or friends. Or he would post what he is feeling like he is sleepy.

Yes, that's true my friend. Little do they know that their postings of mundane things and issues about their lives becomes a laughing matter by those supposedly "friends" at FB.

I think it all boils down to attention. They are most likely not getting it offline, and they use sites like Facebook in an attempt to draw it. I think this tactic often backfires though. Most of the people who these people think are their "Facebook" friends are probably laughing at them for posting some of the ignorant things they do.

i am also annoyed with these people. how can they keep posting with their activities for the day. they think they are really popular like those people in the show business or the politicians? there goes my feeling of unfriending them or unsubscribing.

I don't know about you, but it seems to me that FaceBook, even though it is extremely popular, is becoming somewhat of a social slum. It has gone as far as it could go I believe. There is no incentive for anyone to post there. So we wind up seeing stupid posts. If they decided to compensate the members, I think we will see a difference in FaceBook. Unfortunately it is so big and powerful of a site, that it is integrated into many aspects of our social life. It almost seems to be a standard for everything social these days. But I hardly go there except to promote some referral links.

Well, inertia, i like Facebook, because it helped me reconnect with my classmates from high school, even if they are abroad. I got to see how they look after all these years and vice versa. Though, one of them seems a braggart, posting anything that she cooks, acquire etc. Well, she maybe is just a bored housewife and since our high school days, she is already that way.

I don't know, it just seems a little too impersonal. Maybe it's me. I have found some friends on there, but no one seems to keep in touch, so I don't bother. I did find a great social network where I get paid and I have made some great friends there. They seem to be better friends and more friendly then on FaceBook. So I spend most of my time on the other social network. And I also spend time here in MyLot. I find the people here to be very nice, like you. So I stick with this.

In my opinion, they think(the people who posts everything) that they are celebrities that everyone wants to know what they are doing, it's there moment to shine and show off, but most of the time the people who read it(like me) don't care. hahaha

Hi Simplyd, I think I am guilty with these since I tend to put some updates about myself in facebook. The moment I went to facebook last January I tend to update like a lot of things of where I went to or where I am heading or pictures that I am eating. But I don't do this like most of the time like most of my friends do, just when I have some events. Anyhow, I felt feed up already about the status and useless updates from people so I deactivated again my facebook....^^.. I am more active with instagram now since I like photography and pictures.. Have a great time!

Yeah that gets really annoying. I'm not on FB all day everyday and I only really post things once in a while and it's usually thanking people for a great night out or something funny I overheard or just anything I might be excited about. I also am getting annoyed with all my friends just constantly posting all those pictures from the internet. I don't mind if they share those once in a while but there are quite a few on my list that post like 20 a day! I can't stop them of course and can't say much as it's their page and their right to post what they like, when they like :)

When I was still using facebook I had a friend who like to update everything she feel or everything she do, what she cooks etc, I dont get annoyed by her habit. I understand she did it because she was very lonely, she lives in a remote area because of her husband's job, living alone away from friends and family, living with a husband who did not care for her. She use facebook to get away from her boredom, her husband had fun in the club played billiard and she had to stay at home raised 2 kids under 3 years old. I made exception for this girl, but for other friends who updated everything they do for the shake of bragging well I only laugh at them.

I guess, if i know that my friend is in that condition, i can very well understand her. I could at least share with her some entertaining quotes, for her to ponder on. But the other postings of friends which you more or less know that they are really braggarts in real life, it's annoying! It's an extension of their bragging in real life in the presence of friends.

I have some friends who used update every moments in their life. Those things include their wishes, their good moments, the food they need, their desires to have clothes and many other things. I feel he is much addicted to Facebook. This will be the main reason fro it.

not bragging, but they r too much about being socialite in social network. The need of "is there some1 will leave a comment?" I dont know what they think, is it important if some1 knows that they r eating, or hanging out? In my social network account I will only leave comment of something important like pictures, or other important information.

Hello SIMPLYD Actually, I see this very thing here on myLot as well. People will post all manner of what they are doing during their day. And people respond to it. In fact, people seem to love responding to stuff like that.
@SIMPLYD (90722)

Well, at Mylot at least it becomes an avenue for discussion. Thus, it could either be agreed upon or criticized. As long as other people could relate, it could get a response. But postings at FB about anything is something else.

I've accumulated several friends in Facebook, and believe it or not, only one out of around 50 friends in my network posts really important things on his mind(i.e., serious stuff about the environment, balanced with pics of family and events happening elsewhere in the world). Many of us tend to post mundane things, though occasionally I share sayings i believe in or identify with.
