I'm going out of my flipping mind here! I had to get up because it hurts too much to lay down. It also hurts too much to sit here typing, but I have to do something.
I fell on my bed. I landed too hard on the bed.. I have to kind of fall into bed in order to get the momentum up to get my legs up on the bed. The nerve pain and the immobility is such that I can't just raise my legs up on the bed. Anyway, I screamed out when I landed because it jarred my back and the nerve is pinching off and the pain in my hip and behind my knee and in my toes is significant, to say the least.
I just took my nightly neurontin and my pain pill, but I think I am going to have to take the dose I missed this afternoon also. I didn't hurt too bad this afternoon and I forgot to take it.. now my nerve root is screaming and it's screaming all the way down.
I've been down for more than a week after sleeping and waking up after an injury... I can't go to the doc, because I used up all my credit.. so I'd have to pay... nothing she could do anyway.
Just venting... do you have spondylosis? Do you have pressure on the spinal nerve? Share any experiences please... if I don't answer tonight, I'll answer tomorrow.

Do you have family and relatives near in your place to help you with your problem? i think you should not bear it alone...you can ask some help financially right...?
Because in your situation, obviously you can't work for your medication, and the way you said it your medication is quiet expensive..so i think it is okey to ask some help with your family and relatives....

I have insurance and my meds are quite cheap... I only pay $2.50 for my prescriptions... medical care, on the other hand is expensive. 20% of each and every medical bill can be astronomical.
I live with my family... so there's no problem there.

Mine is a lifetime of arthritis. I also have osteoporosis. I passed from osteopenia on to the more severe condition a few years ago. It's also very painful.

My left hip is almost immobile now.. I have very little range of motion. I walk like a duck because I don't have a normal gate anymore.
I need a transfer bench for my tub because it is difficult to maneuver into the tub. I can't lift my leg up over the tub so i can get it in the tub.
I hope to get one when I get paid at Amazon... it will be cheaper than buying from my oxygen company.

I think you need to talk to your doctor when you see her again, and discussion of all that walking is good for you and all the housework is good, as you know sometimes we make our injuries worse because we are not doing the right kind of exercise.

My husband had spondylosis. He had two herniated discs in his lumbar spine. He had surgery to remove the portions of the discs that were pinching the nerves and he no longer has that horrible nerve pain. I can't believe your doctor hasn't suggested surgery! (Or has he/she?)
Believe me, surgery can stop a lot of pain. I had nerve pain in my neck that went down my right arm. At times, it hurt so badly that I was in tears. The surgeon operated (discectomy and fusion) and the pain was gone immediately! I woke up from the surgery feeling great! The pain from the incision was barely noticeable because the pain in my arm was completely gone and it was such a relief.
Is surgery an option for you? I strongly recommend it.

Hi MW,
I don't think I would qualify for surgery... due to my size. There would be quite a bit of fat to go through to get to my discs.
The nurse practitioner was surprised my doc didn't suggest nerve blocks... and I told her I mentioned it and he said I wouldn't benefit from them. I had them a couple decades ago and they helped a lot.

Ah I hear and feel your pain. I am not diagnosed as of yet but what I have I have been told is like spondlyosis. I also have severe sciatic pain that goes all the way down my back to my toes. I have found stretching gently, heat pads, and massage chairs work the best. In fact I have heat and massage on me right now as I am in pain waiting for the next time slot to come to take more meds. Also I have found that sitting on one leg/hip feels better than sitting normally. Feel better!

You probably have Osteoarthritis, where the cartilage between your joints is gone, and its just your bones rubbing. Surgery does cost a lot. http://www.pemftreatmenthealingtouches.com/ It has a unique procedure. You DO have to buy something though, but it is roughly 1/5 the price of surgery, which is your best bet. There is no other way to regain your cartilage, and to stop the pinching of your nerves.
Top comment if it helped you! Thanx

Yes, I have that.. I also have desiccated discs, and spondylosis, which is arthritis. I can't buy anything. I've had a series of 8 nerve blocks.. I'm not going through that again.

dear Pointless Questions sorry for the late answer but I have not had as much time as normally to be online for the last two weekends and then there was the server crash.
You have much more pain than what I do with this spondylosis pestering you. My doctor prescribed me some pain meds for my herniated disc but it stopped working too soon to say the least. I trust him completely but when it comes to these pain meds we handle things differently. I am not going to take something which wont help me anyways but normally I take some ibuprofen if the pain is pestering me too much and it gets bearable when I have taken this stuff.
Maybe you could learn to lie down and get up in a back friendly way, first rolling to your side, letting the legs hang out of the bed and shifting your weight with both arms on the mattress. It took me some time to learn it but I try to remember to do something good for my back....

ouch! i hope you feel better soon.
about a year ago i injured my back picking up a pullout couch, i went to the dr for it and he told me i just pulled a muscle and put me on bed rest for a week, it still hasnt gotten better, im out of work because of it putting all the financial stress on my fiance which i HATE.
i recently started going to a new dr for it and was sent in for xrays. i havent gotten the results back yet, i have an appointment to go see the dr and get find out whats wrong, however the dr did put me on 2000-4000 mg of roboxin a day (a muscle relaxer) and the x ray tech must have seen something because after she looked at them she told me to stay in bed until i went to see the doctor.
yes i really did mean 2000-4000 by the way, it wasnt a mistake, i thought the dosage was really high but if it helps it helps.
i know how you feel, everyday just getting in and out of bed is a big elaborate thing, it hurts no matter how you sit, lay or move. i really hope you start to feel better soon
