2nd hand clothing? I know a lot of people buy second hand clothes and the clothes look wonderful. But then there are people out there that thinks that is gross to buy second hand clothes. But if you do buy second hand clothes there is always a chance to find a little treasure, like the lady that found a ring valued at 5,000-6,500 dollars in the pocket of capris bought at goodwill.

It's usually not something I do but if the clothes are in good condition, then I don't really see a problem. My friend goes to goodwill and thrift stores all the time and gets clothes and purses. Personally, I don't like having to dig through it all because everything always feels so dusty and kind of dirty. It would be really neat to come across something that's actually really valuable. If I ever bought second hand clothing it would have to be in pretty good condition for me to want to get it

Totally agree, Goodwill stuff can smell bad. That is one thing I don't like about them. When I sell clothes online I make sure that they have been washed and clean and no defects before even posting them. If something is wrong with something I never post it but instead use it for rags.

Yes I do buy second hand clothes to save money because very year my husband always attending costume party in his office and its very expensive if I buy a new one that he can wear for a one night. I just make sure to washed it very well. After he used those clothes I sent it to the province so that if someone needed it they can used it too. I

I do buy a lot of things second hand at the moment, because I have lost a lot of weight and buying them second hand means that I don't have to spend quite as much money on it but I am then able to give it to a charity shop when I am finished with it without having to worry that I haven't used it much for the money that I had spent on it. I don't know why people worry about things being worn by other people, because all you should be worrying about is whether you like the look of it or not, and if the answer to that is yes then you really shouldn't worry about who has worn it in the past.

Hello :D. I would buy second hand clothing if I find something that I like. I wouldn't buy underwear or stuff that's really personal or that would involve normally a lot of sweat (like wedding clothes or exercising outfits). I don't find them specially gross (soap gets rid of anything), but I dislike the personal feelings those type of stuff tend to have (yeah I know it sounds crazy ;p). I've never found treasure or anything valuable at all, but I'm happy enough saving money in clothes :D.

hi outcast! i have had a lot of fun shopping in thrift and consignment shops because sometimes you can find unique clothing there that you cannot find anywhere else and shopping is more fun! i only like these shops if the clothes and the shop is clean and pleasant...shops with weird smells, i cannot take! i also will not buy old underwear, lingerie, or shoes! but the other things one can have washed/drycleaned and they are okay! i like the look of vintage clothes or just really unique clothes and a lot of the favorite clothes i have had in the last ten years or so i found in consignment shops...i also buy clothes at regular department stores too...it is fun to mix things and create "looks"! my dad has a friend who bought a suit at goodwill and found $500 dollars in the pockets when he got home...he took it back , but they let him keep some of it! if i found a treasure like that lady it would be very exciting and i have to confess i might have kept the ring and not given it back!

yup.most of what i buy is second hand.
my mom used to work for salvation army, and i know a lot of the stuff that comes in is actually brand new,the stores dump the unsold when the season changes.
it's cheaper,i can buy more,i will rewash it at home before i wear it.i know the stores wash it,but it's just a personal preferance.
i know some people get grossed out,but that's their problem.i prefer it to paying full price from some greedy designer.

In fact I am not interested in buying second hand stuff. I like to buy the brand new thing. If I can't afford to it, I can wait. And it is not possible for me to buy second hand clothes since it is not clean enough. And it may not look good, too.
I love China

I used to get hand me downs from family so shopping at places that have second hand clothing does not bother me. Most places have clothes at fairly cheap prices, and so I don't bother trying them on. I always go home and wash them, and if they don't fit but I know someone who could wear them I give it to them instead.

I love 2nd hand clothing!! I have no problem with it . . . I always give it a good wash when I bring them home - so I don't think it's gross (although I do think it would be gross to buy second hand underwear!). No one ever notices - so who cares!! Plus I gets tons of stuff for dirt cheap . . . and I happen to be a small size so there is a lot for me to choose from. I've never been that lucky to find any extra hidden treasures in the pockets . . . but I think I've certain gotten my money's worth when I bring home a gigantic bag of clothes!!

I do buy second hand clothing because it helps me save money. I am in the middle of losing weight so I really do not want to spend money on clothes right now. I love the idea of shopping in thrift stores because I can get great deals. I had heard the story about the woman who found the expensive ring and did the right thing by trying to find its righful owner.

I have never buy 2nd hand clothing. Maybe it is so excited to find a ring valued much in the pocket, but I don't have that fortune. I don't like 2nd hand clothing, but tools are ok, such as books, radio, chair and so on.

I buy second hand clothes all the time, but only from one place here where I live now. I trust this place that everything is cleaned before sold. I do not ever buy second hand shoes, unless the tag is still on them or they obviously have little wear. Kids shoes mostly because mine grow out of them every few months. Never under garments ever. My son has grown four inches in one year, so second hand clothes is the only way to keep him clothed without a fortune in money. But to each their own.
