My Name is Earl, is it a comedy or deep revelation?

This is a serious question, is My Name Is Earl just meant to be funny or does it have a deeper meaning to it? It definitely has some meaning to it with the karma angle but should we take earl and his brother's bumbling mishaps more seriously as deep revelations as to what it is to be human to to make (and then correct) mistakes? Have you ever found deep meaning in My Name Is Earl, if so what? Or is it just an, albeit hilarious, comedy?

I absolutely love this show and I think it's a comedy with a moral behind it. The concept of going back and fixing your mistakes is great. I find it hilarious to see all that Earl goes through to track down and apologize to people he has harmed instead of just walking away and forgetting the whole thing. His brother is pretty sad but Earl is a very likable guy with a good heart.
I didn't watch the show when it initially aired but it will air on Saturday mornings sometimes and I'll get a good laugh. Plus I really like that Earl is willing to do just about anything to gain forgiveness from the people he has wronged. Really good show.

Hello agnesc
Your Discussion itself has been a revelation to me as I did not know that My Name is Earl would even be considered a comedy.
I have only seen it a few times, but I was certain that it was a documentary.
Peace!
I love the world!!
