Boredom eating, I guess, is one of the habits the eventually lead to obesity. You are not the only one who experience it. Majority of us have battled with ourselves on whether to eat more chips or not.
Though it gives you an immediate but temporary gratification, you have to stop this habit. Tremendous amount of discipline will be needed in order to free yourself from boredom eating. Sure it would be difficult at first, but the reward would be priceless: a healthy and fit body. So before you open that chips, think of the long ter effects of your actions.

I always like to do the same as you.I love to find some sweet things when i'm really sad,coz i've heard that it is good for our mood to eat sweet things especially when you are sad.So,lol,just treat yourself better and i feel really happy then.Nobody is gonna make me sad.Have a nice day.

A lot of people eat when they're bored, and that is why there are so many people who are overweight in the world at the moment. Because people are nowhere near as active as they were in the past, this means that they're spending more time sitting at their desks and they might think that they're feeling bored when in reality they're just not doing anything because they're sitting at a desk. If you feel bored, then think about going for a run or doing an exercise DVD instead of eating, and if you still think that you're hungry when you've finished then a small snack wouldn't do any harm because you will have burned off a lot of the calories that you will consume anyway.

Hi cgrimmiefans: I know! This also happens to me. That's the reason why I hate being home alone doing anything. I have to be active even if I am not working because, when you just doing anything that keeps your mind busy you start wanting to eat just to waste your time. And also the worst ideas comes when you are being lazy.

Hi dear,
try to control just a little bit each time. I think those diets of 'I'll never eat this again' doesn't work. Forgive yourself everyday for what you ate and just keep in mind you'll continue to try to eat less and healthier, I think you need to educate your mind. Try to also find out what it is this emptiness, because that could affect other things.
I am no psychologist but I love it and study people a lot, it's just my opinion but could be c***, lol, you judge please: isn't that you feel lonely? If so you must learn how to enjoy yourself, your own company.
About the boredom, how about go back to all the things you love to do?
I being vegan of course lost a lot of weight, but I also like to make the oposite: to try and find BOREDOM IN THE FOOD. So it never gets that enjoyable you know, I eat on my feet, specially when I'm alone, just eat enough to satisfy the hunger.
Another tip is to stay as far as you can from the kitchen in your home, and when you want to go there to eat keep telling yourself you'll wait another 5 minutes, little by little that could turn into a half an hour.

Anyway I am not going to eat when I get bored, if it is, I would have been an elephant . When ever I got bored I just call a friends and refresh our old thoughts. Sometimes I may be bored while alone in the room, then I play alone some computer games, which could have some enjoyment.

Sometimes when I get bored I find myself snacking. I try to stick to healthy snacks like baby carrots and celery sticks. Snacking isn't necessarily a bad thing, in fact it's recommended that we eat lots of small meals daily, but they need to be healthy snacks. If it's really bad I'll try and get out my hula-hoop or otherwise do something that engages me so I can let the bored go.
If you're hungry all the time, that might be something different. Some people have a hunger sensor which doesn't work very well. And junk food can be bad for you in that regard, because soon after eating it then you'll be hungry again.
