Hi mylotters, in your own opinion? Is CUTE a compliment or a criticism.

I've been thinking about this, Cute is commonly used to describe. Everytime I hear this word the first thing that comes into my mind are pets like dogs ,cats, turtles and humsters, so I wonder what would it mean if CUTE is used to a person? Should that person be flattered or be annoyed?

If 'cute' were used to describe a person I think that it would depend on who said it and why. Was something going down that would give this person a need to be sarcastic? I would be flattered if I knew I hadn't done anything and would be annoyed if, after thinking it over I figured this person had some underlying problem with me. It would depend.

hi celticeagle oh my when my son says to me oh mom thats cute, its not a compliment it means I made a real booboo. lol but he has mellowed in his later years and does not say that. thank goodness., when I was really hurt by a mylotter who sent me a private message telling me she hated me as I lost her a lot of money when my discussion was deleted. to begin with i had no discussion deleted. the only thing that happened was she gave me an insulting response and i reported it to admins as i also told her why did she just skip my discussion,And her response and my comment were deleted. anyway she called me a F word old hag. I told my son about the incident and he wrote me an email saying Mom do not let that b.i.t.c.h get to you.just ignore her. I decided that was excellent advice as I had not made her lose a lot of money and I had not had a discussion deleted either. She has had the nerve to comment on my discussions again but at least they are not insulting. and we all are free to respond to anyone's one discussion. But she unfriended me and that did hurt.but thats fine. I have plenty of real friends here any way.

I guess it depends on your perspective of yourself, and how you would define cute. I would not be offended but I am not one who cares much how others perceive me physically anyways. I am who I am, like me or don't, words are not an issue for me.

hi meumeu its overused to the point of idiocy. I mean inanimate things are they cute? a kitten can be cute and a small child can be
cute or adorable but an old plump man being called cute? give me a break. He can be fun to be with, interesting or have a great personality but cute? no draw the line some where. i do not think a refrigerator or a stove is cute.maybe attracive but not cute.

I believe that CUTE is a positive adjective that can describe a person or a thing but any response to it may depend on how you see it, I mean if your sensitive enough to think that it is an insult then you have a problem. For me I don't mind them telling me I'm cute because I know that would mean good.
