Taking A Summer Break From College!!

United States
June 24, 2012 3:06pm CST
Hello MyLotters!!! Well, I have been going to classes now for three years straight without a summer break. I am now taking just one summer off to spead time with my family. I feel like I should be typing up a paper or studying for a test. Three years is such a long time. I now have to adjust and just relax... How do I go from a busy multitasker to mellow and laid back? I feel like I am wasting time. Haha...I always spend time with my kids; it's a must! But it seems like everyone else is on vacation out of state. What to do..What to do...Clean house I guess...

It is great that you are taking some time off college, and I know what you mean about feeling as though you should be doing some work when in actual fact you have very little to do. I have just finished my college degree and I feel exactly like that. However, you should try to spend as much time as you can with your children while they're off school, as they're not going to be young forever so you should make the most of the fact that you have a break over the summer to be able to spend the time with them that you want to.

That is very tiring, going to school for 3 years straight. you really need a rest. I think that is just what you can do enjoy resting and spend more time with your family. You can plan outings, or just stay at home- it'll be fun as long as you;re together.

I think that the three or four months spend relaxing isn't going to be enough to really take you out of any deep seated practices like the multitasking. Just spending some time with yourself is a good thing. And bringing your hole activity meter down to near zero for awhile should be good for you too. Enjoy!

Well, it's great to take a break! I usually spend my breaks catching up on reading the books I want to read or watching movies that I've been missing in theaters. I also take the time to spend it with my friends, whatever we can do, sometimes we just hang out. If I have something I know I need to get done, then I'll do that. House cleaning is a good chore to occupy yourself with. If not, then I love to exercise. I put on some music and dance or spin my hula hoop or something.

I am glad to know that you have a summer break from all your studies. I hope that you enjoy your days well with your kids. Kids are really cute and the time becomes wonderful when you spent on them. Cleaning your house is a great idea so that you can get rid of bored time and you can enjoy it.

I hope you have lots of fun. Take care and forget the house cleaning. The best way to relax is to try to forget about duties of any kind. I bet there are lots of fun things to do. Summer is the best time. I love sun.

Yeah summer breaks are always on the hit list on any student's mind as it is generally of a longer period wherein you can indulge in lots of fun activities at home as well as take adequate rest to make up the effort put in during the previous months.
