Driving at night when no lights are on

I am noticing something very usual these days. At night at some places where it is very important to have street lights well there are no lights.
I came at a round about yesterday night and again no street lights to show me the path. I could have come over the round about itself if my car did not had lights.
It has been some months now where the street lights at the specific locations are not good and no one is bothering to change the bulbs.
I made 4 complaints but still nothing, they told me there is only me who is making the complaints.
I guess some people are happy when there are injustices, they do not even bother to complaint. We are paying tax every year and we need better service. Why can't people see all these.
It is not only about street lights but don't you think nowadays people are more quiet to injustices.?

If it takes more than one person complaining for them to do something about this lighting issue, then perhaps you should mention this to Friends,Neighbours, and relations in the area so they can report this too,and consider contacting a local newspaper..They would be interested in a story like this.
Are you not familiar with this road where the roundabout is,to be aware of it? As a driver,on any road whether familiar or not,you have to be prepared to stop in an emergency..not having street lighting at night, say in the event of a power outage, would not be a valid excuse for Police if you were going so fast you failed to read road traffic warning signs with your headlights and drove into something like a roundabout..(Assuming the local authority that's not maintaining the lighting has installed signs at the roundabout..)
There are always People and groups who will stand up for injustice to others..unfortunately,some people think that when it's not them being targeted, they'll say it's not their problem and do nothing.

There are many places that do not have street lights at all, so it is just natural to be more careful at night as we cannot see very well, even with the headlights of the vehicle. In fact, I know more places that do not have street lights than ones that do. I guess that it probably depends upon where you are from, but I think of street lights more for people that are out walking or riding a bicycle at night rather than someone in a car.

Well, I have noticed more and more places are getting lax with keeping up with the lighting for areas, and then wonder why it all of a sudden becomes an area with a lot of crime, and if you say something they either say they will get to it when they can as it is not an emergency, or it is not that big of a deal. Like others have said, if you pay for Electricity in your area some of it I am sure goes to help fund that, so personally sounds like someone is just too lazy to care.

You are probably right. People nowadays are just contented living despite the daily injustices they encounter. They probably have other problems to attend to, which they feel are more important than the rest. It's things like these that makes way for bad governance to exist long.

Hi med: I think you were a nice citizen with your action. It's so sad that the system would be so corrupt that they don't pay attention to your request. Lights in the middle of the night are necessary. I won't feel safe if I have to drive in the middle of the night on a specific place of the city. These things are serious .

hi,
its really scary to drive in a streets without any lights or street lights because dark places are not safe for all motorist, that is why when i am driving my own car i will always go in a road where it has a light or many people to avoid some accidents and crime.

Dear friend,
Once I had taken my car during the day time. We went to our nephew home and started from there during the mid night. The next day I have be in office as there was urgent pending work. Unfortuantely the main lights of my car was not working. I had to drive about 50 km without light. Actually it was the rat that swered the wire. Then I realised the difficulty to drive without car light and street light. If there was much traffic too...hope it would be a mess.

I face the same situation, in the place I live everyone is happy with the government and could give their lives to them despite the fact that they steal large sums of the public money to buy big cars, travel around the world, and buy the best things for their own kids, the media played a big role for that to happen. Same street lights problem over here, and no one seems to care despite the fact that there's at least one accident everyday (most of the time, fatal) in a country that has only around 400, 000 vehicles.

I do think that there are a lot of times in society today that people are silent when it comes to various injustices. However, I also live in an area where we are kind of surrounded by country settings and when you are driving in the country, there are not always street lights, so I am also a person that is accustomed to driving without street lights. You just always have to make sure that you have good headlights in your car.

There are some streets here too that has no streets lights or sometimes not working that really cause darkness. It is quite scary to pass or walk into streets that has no lights and too dark cause you never know what might happen.
People should complain and it is local government obligation to put on lights to protect their people.

Yes, people tend to shut up when something like this happens. We should take attitude, or nothing will happen. Some authorities seem to be unaware or indifferent to what citizens happen, and this is not a normal situation. I think they should do all in their power to please the citizens. This is their duty.

I have experienced this even in my hometown. The street by the side of our house remains dark, because antisocial elements break the street light.Darkness is conductive for them to operate there. We request the municipal authorities to address the problem there, but generally our requests fall on deaf ears and we are made to go back with hollow assurances.

Here in my street there is enough street light on the road but most of them are not working. Sometimes some of them keep on blinking, sometimes some do not blink at all but there certain few number of tubes or bulbs which glow well. The condition has turned very pathetic now a days. In some areas the road is full of darkness and people find very to walk as well to drive the vechiles.
We people pay a certain part of our income as taxes but where is this money going. These money is lotted by most of the political leaders and this is the reason why the goverment find no more money to repair it. If they have enough money them why can't they repair it. So it is very sure that the money which we pay as taxes really goes in the pockets of political leaders.
As a citizen of the country we have the right to report and questions all the things around us. So keep complaining , may this will help them to open their eyes.
