Our life may have dark sides and the path to life may sometimes seems like hard to walk by.. but God is there is guide us and show us the right way how to live despite of the obstacles we may face. That is, if we carry the lamp while we walk in this life. The lamp that gives light to our feet is God. If we choose to leave the lamp our life will be in darkness and just like a dark road it will be hard for us to travel, our life will be full of difficulties if we ignore the guide from our God.
That is the meaning of the passage for me.![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

This is an awesome verse. When we trust in God, we trust in what He has said to us and when we need that, all we have to do is turn to His Word and it will light the way, no matter what is going on. It's precious to be able to turn to Him and know that He is the Light.

Hello mikyung
For those who believe in this sort of thing, the phrase, "Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet and the light unto my path," can be quite comforting, especially in times of trouble when one is in a place that may be out of one's comfort zone.
This phrase can also be troublesome as it may cause the believer to go places they would not normally go, or even wouldn't want to go, but will go, becaus they trust in the one who is the Word.
Peace.
I love the world!! ![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)
