Anyone know how to optimize internet speed for free?

I've been having issues trying to optimize it..I tried using a manual DNS Server set-up, and that only makes it worse :/ Everytime I reset it to my ISP's DNS Servers, the internet speed is faster, yet slow enough to make me impatient for a page to load. Dx Please help. :s

Yes, I have also tried with a different DNS server. And it was worked for me. Also make sure that your computer is clean, I mean free from viruses. Some viruses really slows it down
