I think dancing is a good exercise and it can be very helpful to lose the weight. I seldom sweat. But once I dance, I will sweat a lot and feel tired. In the past I bought a digital toy like dancing carpet. I danced on the carpet meanwhile followed the melody from TV or computer. It was an enough exercise for me already. I love China

Hello jricky1 I enjoy dancing as it is awesome exercise While I mostly enjoy the Disco dancing, I also enjoy Ballroom dancing. I remember how much I enjoyed going to the clubs when I was in college for some great ballroom dancing! I was much thinner then, and I attribute much of that to my dance moves. I have one rather large room in my house (it is almost 2,000 square feet) and Mrs. Turner uses a small part of this for her art, but we like to use much of it for DANCE! Peace I love the world!!

Well, dancing is exercise, and exercise is essential for weightloss. I am thinking about this myself. I have very little or no exercise at all in my daily life, and I don't really like jogging or going to the gym (I've tried both.) Recently I've been hearing of people taking up classes in belly dancing, pole dancing, or Vegas strip. Not my type of dance, but surely there are other alternatives. I did enjoy dancing when I was younger, so I guess I can commit to dancing classes. At the same time, it seems to be more fun than exercising at a gym.

I am no expert of diet or losing weight adviser. From what I saw, most of those dancers indeed have slim body shape, and they are easy to lose weight. I guess mostly due to dancing, and the moving of your body. So, it is a good exercise, and you can lose weight easily. Go for it if you do want to lose weight.

hi jricky! i think dancing is fun and wish that i could do it, for fun and exercise, but i can't anymore because i have a really bad arthritis in one of my legs and can't balance well! swimming is good for me though...one of my friends loves salsa dancing and she dances several nights a week...she stays slim from this i suppose, but i have never seen her not slim...i think dancing could also be a good stress reliever, it could be a diversion from issues and take you away into another realm...this is what i suspect it is for my friend, as she has a very intense personality but she is very happy when she is just talking about dancing! how about you, do you enjoy dancing?

Dancing works especially when you do some warming up before you dance. warming up can also protect your body. Now every night after dinner I dance with others on the square. I really lose weight. by the way,you should have a diet .don't swallow too much. good luck.

Well of course! It's a great aerobic exercise. You really get your body moving and your heart pumping, and plus lots of dancers do a much of other exercises to keep them in good shape so they can continue to dance. For the average person dancing, it can be a fun way to get exercise. I love to dance because I just love moving my body and being up and twirling around.

Well, i have heard about something like that for many times too. As long as you turn on TV, you can alway watch some gym coaches and professional dancers promoting the benefits of dance. In my opinion, any physical exercise can help us lose weight, including dance,of course. Yet so far it seems that climbing stairs is the most effective method of losing weight. And according to my own experience, there is no denying that it is true. Moreover, being on a diet is as important as sports. May you as slim as you want to be!

Hmmm, i need to increase my weight now...not lose weight... i think dancing makes us in healthy, it may make us lose weight a bit because when we dance, we spend calories for it, right? I can't dance...even though i really want to dance...because many time i had to refuse my friend's invitation of dancing. When i have a time, i would like to learn dancing...it is good for relaxing when we dance...

Yes, it is true; however, you need to partner it with a good diet. It is useless if you dance as an exercise to loose weight but still eating voraciously. Start by drinking a lot of water a day, then lessen your carbs, and eat more foods with lots of fibers like the green leafy vegetables and fruits. I have tried these and already lost me 15 pounds in 3 months and still doing it and hoping to lose some more.. Many would say that carbs are the culprit, do not eat more than what is asked in your diet.

Hello there, Dancing for sure is one of the good ways to help us to lose weight. Meanwhile, if you have a young lady dancing coach, then it will be better and you will be in the paradise when you are having her class.

Dancing is fantastic exercise..the only thing I will say is that you still have to watch what you eat. You could spend the whole day dancing and then put back all the calories that you lost dancing! Good luck!

Here is an example for you. Back when I was pregnant with my last child, I was still into eating some junk food, though I also ate healthy food. But I danced up to a week before giving birth and about 2 weeks before that, I was at this meeting. Then when my baby was about 6 weeks old, I went back to this meeting only to be told, "I didn't know you were pregnant" So, though I don't recommend anyone to not eat right, especially if she is expecting, this proves that dancing is great exercise when someone saw me just a couple weeks before having my baby and I didn't look big at all. Oh, and it wasn't because the baby was small either, he was a very healthy 8 pounds..:D

yes dancing does help you to lose weight. That's like the new program they have out now called zumba. You dance and work out at the same time and helps you to lose weight. I'm thinking of starting getting into that myself to help lose some weight because just eating healthy doesn't work gotta do both.

Dancing is a great way to lose weight. I gained lots of weight last year aside from running, dancing really helps me to lose weight. I do belly dancing and hip hop dancing almost everyday and I achieved my target weight in a few months. But I think I need to lose weight a little more and I am going to try pole dancing this weekend to strength and tone down my muscle.
