Facebook has never been such a big thing to me. My niece and a friend first brought me to Myspace and I wasn't too interested although I got a lot of friends like upcoming singer, Jessie J. Then my niece and friend got me to join Facebook. I still have entertainers friending me on Myspace before they become famous. I mostly go to Facebook because I want to wish my friends Happy Birthday. I am mostly bored with Facebook because all my friends only pay attention to what they post. All of them want to be wise and offer wisdom although they need a lot of it themselves.

And others would put some unnecessary things in there like some rants or where they go, what they are doing and so forth...which I think it irritating.
I do have a facebook account but I don't go in there too often, I just log in to see some updates and I just go over in here and spend the rest of my time in here. Here, everything is usual plus, we can express our thoughts to a certain degree that it can lessen the stress in us. It is definitely a stress reliever for me.
Have a nice day!

I joined facebook in 2008, I can say I spend the same amount of time as I did then, but not because of the apps or games in that site, but only because that is the only source of communication with my classmates and relatives. That site has been helpful in locating long lost friends and relatives, and in all honesty, I thank facebook for that. The only annoying thing I guess is the constant change and the privacy issues. I do spend a lot of time on facebook, but like you said, it is just not as interesting as it used to be.

yeah like wonderboy said, nowadys old members use facebook just to keep in touch with friends/relatives,and bussiness man use facebook as a platform to enhanche there business,,,maybe the constant change in features like introduction of timeline may have helped people i guess to stay away from facebook as well

I try to never answer to a discussion that already have a best answer... but I will do any way FB was never a charmer! I only use it because I can communicate with my family overseas...at the end of the day people make FB and FB is what people make of it! if people post s**t that is what you are going to get! sad but truth.

I've read in a discussion that it's one of the factors that determines the earnings we get in using MyLot.... Kind of like a bonus.

I gave up on FB long ago but my readers contact me on that site so I just check in with FB once a week to bring myself up to date and not have people waiting for a reply. A lot of my readers buy their books directly from me here where I am in S.A. as they like an autograph in the book.

This is interesting. I've never given it much thought but I don't think Facebook is losing any of its charm. Well, yeah I myself am annoyed with the Timeline feature. It makes it difficult for me to find my friends' feeds on the games that they play, for one. I still would stick to Facebook though because of the games I play there as well as the fact that most of my friends are there.
I don't frequently log in to my Facebook account though; maybe that's why I don't find it boring like you do.
Cheers~

I have periods of times when I take a break from facebook. All of a sudden I lose interests in what's going on in people's lives and in the world... but it happens in any thing- work for example, studies, music... you just can't stand it anymore and just have to have a break.
Right now I'm starting my break again, mainly because I'm bored but also because I'm pissed off that facebook is adding features and changing existing settings without notifying its member base.

Maybe it's a natural feeling that getting hooked with facebook at first like we are addicted. But eventually, we slowdown because we find it boring. That's what I felt as well. Lately, I realized to use it purposely like taking advantage with the trend. I only used it for business communication; I reach out to prospects to offer my products and services. It does so amazingly. I earned money from it. So now, I see to it when logging in the facebook, it always spell MONEY so my time will not be wasted in chatting without sense. Instead of finding it boring, I am turning it into an opportunity to earn my living.

As you said nowadays people use facebook just to keep in touch with friends/relatives and check their account time to time or some may use facebook as a platform to enhanche their business and if used properly they can get good rewards for their business from facebook,,,these days i guess only new members are interested in its features like tagging, writing uncessary status, playing games, using useless apps etc,,,its jst my opinion though

Same this with me.! I was also doing like that before. Once I joined myLot I thought its much better than wasting time there. Then I was like addicted to myLot.!! Later this site also started boring for me..
and nowadays I stay connected with both Facebook and this myLot. Not much, only 2 hrs a day...

i have joined mylot just some months back and haven't been much active due to my studies, till now i like mylot very much because unlike facebook mylot cares for it's members and pays a lot of $$$$ just for doing some things we do in facebook,s rather than wasting time in facebook i am active in mylot these days,,,but i guess after some time from now i may lose interest in mylot also and search for better site than mylit,,,thats the human nature,,never satisfying with what you have lol

Hello kapil11, I think it is just a common fact. But, I could say that if my friends are there with their informative posts and comments I never feel bored .

I go through stages with facebook. I've never been one to follow other people's walls or put much real life information on mine. Mostly on facebook I play the apps. And some times I won't touch facebook for months at a time, and other times I go where I'm on facebook everyday playing certain apps. Right now I'm into Gourmet Ranch, and trying to get the fourth of July quests done.

I am member of Facebook from around two years but I am not interested in tagging and I hate apps and games because they are really time consuming and I think Mylot is other reason because of that I was/am not interested in Facebook. I knew Mylot before Facebook and rarely used to open Facebook. when we know we can earn on other site for doing same thing then why would anyone do foolish things and waste time without getting anything.
I think we found Facebook boring because we are earning here for doing same things but Facebook is famous and popular that is why it gets more likes, shares and comments than our discussions.
Facebook is good for time pass and I open it just for passing my time and I like to see images, thoughts, news which I get from Facebook. I also go offline and enjoy the images, statuses and other things on Facebook.

what u are saying it might be true for some mylotters, but i am a new member in mylot and i got feed up with facebook befor even knowing about mylot and its features, but now as a member of mylot,,like u said i feel like, why waste time in facebook chatting, playing, uploading pics when you can do the same thing in mylot and get paid plus mylot helps to improve english, and we can meet lots of more people and be friends than in facebook

I find it very very boring. The fact that all these people think 567 people are their friends is enough to make you lose respect for them.
And now it seems like all the people that I know use it to bash other people. Like they post photo's of people shopping in Walmart and laugh at them. You tube is actually more fun, at least you get to watch videos.

I don't find facebook boring, but you're right it is losing it's charm. All the new features that they keep coming up with thinking that it will make facebook more fun or easier. They're wrong. They should have just stuck with the way it was originally made.

I have to say that I think you might be right. Back when Facebook was first invented, it was brand new and nobody had seen anything quite like it before. Because of this it meant that people were interested in it and a lot of people were signing up just for that reason. But now I think that they're trying to change too much in order to make the website better, when in actual fact the only thing that they're doing is making people confused about how to use it and this then means that they're not wanting to be a member any more so they just don't bother to log in.

I've been a member of facebook for many years now. However, I have to say that I have never been one of the people that would use facebook for hours on end. At first I was adding people that I've known for years and family members and now I will still occasionally do that, but the majority of the reason that I spend time on facebook is actually just so that I am able to keep in touch with my friends and family members that live near and far.

I don't find it boring at all, Before like you I had the same routine, spending countless hours on facebook, but it was lessen because I guess I was just excited on using facebook because it was still new, but right now, I still enjoy what I do on social networking sites, socializing even if it is through the internet. Still do things I normally do except the games, because the time for games became my time for MyLOt. but, know I spend equal amount of time here in myLot and, on facebook

Hi Kapil,
Like you, I also feel the same way. That's also one of the reason why I deactivated my account in there twice...and the reason why I went back is because I also needed to contact my old friends which I haven't contacted for more than a decade only. That's the only way I can get in touch with them and to see what they are doing.
But, other than that, I feel that it's too boring...and there people who are abusing it who keeps on posting some arguments and some hatred in there which I really hated. I even posted some rant here in mylot as a discussion. And I also don't play games, that's why I don't really enjoy there that much unlike others.
Happy Mylotting.

Hi friend, we will enjoy a lot in fb, if we have lot of friends there as well as wish to communicate with our friends who are living far away from us, otherwise we are interested in promoting our stuff. Otherwise fb don't fascinate a lot. Now a days lot of paying social sites are available and they are very much identical to fb, so lot of persons are joining with this sites and left fb. Anyway fb is always having its own fans
