If I could Do it All Over Again

Do you ever say this to yourself? I.I.C.D.I.A.O.A? Here I am, I am looking forward to a better future, but can I escape my past? People who have tried to hurt me, are almost always somewhere lurking no matter how far I travel. I am strong, and I am resilient. I fear no one. But, what do I do about the feelings I get when I see that enemy or hear the voice of that fake person who was trying to take advantage of me. Well, they say living well is the best revenge. I should not look back too much and look forward more. Like I said in an earlier discussion, "Life is Short". I do not want to waste too much time on bad memories. Even though everything that has happened to me has made me who I am, I still wonder if I would be as strong if it didn't. I am a positive person. I would like to say I was born this way. I count my blessings because they are mine to enjoy. When I remind myself of them, happiness is the result.

It seems that many things have happened to you, however you has a very strong character and has been in a good state of mind.Life is full of frustrations and what must happen would happen sooner or later.Sometimes We have no choice but to confront reality. The best way to deal with it is that we ought to see the silver lining and insist that never is a long word.

Small wonder some say that it is more difficult to get the better of yourself than overcome difficulties in real life.

Yes, you can escape your past. I had the same problem of someone trying to hurt me...actually going out of his way to hurt me, still trying to control me even years after I left and moved away. It is difficult sometimes and I think you are right when you say living well is the best revenge.
I like to think that the only thing significant about my past is that it brought me to the present.

Sometimes, yeah... I think that if only I could do it all over again, I can change what people think of me or perhaps make them respect me better. Aside from the fact that it's really impossible, I also think that even if time reverses itself people will remain the same. Hence, I don't spend my time anymore thinking about what pain I experienced in the past as a result of people's treatment.
Let's just face the present and be thankful for what it brings us. :)

No, I don't is the answer to your first question. I take it as an experience learned and make a positive outlook afterwards. Do not be affected with your thoughts, do activities that will keep you away from thinking them. Living well is not the answer. What I do is to pray fervently, thanking God of all my blessings, ask Him of my intentions and requests then end it with the help of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It will help you when you pray, it calms your spirits and ward the bad ones away. You said that you count your blessings but did you acknowledge the One that gave them to you? You will only be happy if you accept the One that have made you and thank Him for the gift of life.

Welcome to mylot Goldeladyrege. Thank you for your response. I agree with your strong spirituality. It helps when dealing with the world. There are too many people thinking that bullies and bad people have power. They are weak. I pray for the weak and hope for a change in their behavior and attitudes.
