I Sat Next to A Corpse

Could you sit next to a corpse on a plane for this long and not ask for a refund? The man got on the plane ill and then later died after lift off so she had to sit next to him for awhile before they landed again. How would you react to something like that?? I'd be mortified of course. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/woman-receives-refund-after-having-to-sit-next-to-corpse-on-international-flight/

The sick man might have been flying in a vain attempt to get proper medical treatment at his destination. It wasn't the airline's fault, but if you land up during the flight sitting by a corpse or with someone's vomit all over you, the airline has failed to convey you in an acceptable manner and must compensate you at least up to the value of the flight. In the case of the vomit, they must compensate you for what happened to your clothes. These events happen so rarely that it must be cheaper for an airline to absorb the cost of such events when they happen than to insure against them.

That is possible, too. They never told us the whole story on him. I agree it wasn't the airline's fault. I can't tell you how many times I have been blamed for things too though that weren't my fault. The phone ringing and it wasn't even for me, but I had to find out what they wanted, etc. Just silly things of that nature.

Wow that would be pretty weird. I don't think it would be refundable really, it is just one of those life events that happen. It is just like if someone threw up all over you at the beginning of a flight the airline wouldn't refund you anything as it is an uncontrollable event.

Aww, i can't sit next to a corpse for a while, i am panic if i have to do like that...and for sure i will ask to change my seat, i rather sit in the toilet of the airplane than sit next to a corpse who is not my relative.

Hi there NailTech, I just went over to your link...and I just couldn't imagine myself sitting in there next to a corpse. I would probably have a terrifying flight...and it would definitely be a nightmare. Well, I am hoping that it won't happen to me. I don't really like watching corpse since it would threaten my very high imagination towards things. I might end up fainting in the flight if that would really happen. Anyways, happy Mylotting.

I guess there are worse things to be considered a nightmare but still, it is rather in appropriate and I would just think of it the whole time I was on the flight. Not a pleasant trip, I'd say.

I think I would have had a panic attack and a half. I would have most certainly asked for a refund. I mean since she was journalist she got a good story out of it, which journalist are always looking for. Sort of like us, always looking for stuff to discuss on mylot. lol But no, I would have demanded a refund.

I would have too and if the airline refused then there would be something wrong with them. It is just not acceptable. I know it isn't the fault of the airline's but wow in this case I'd have to make an exception I think and be...uh....cordial.

I would probably sue the airline for something as it will terribly disturb me for I don't know how long, in my sleep and even in my everyday life.

Didnt you tell anybody in charge? If he had been very ill, he must have been accompanied by one or two people. Or he might have had a heart attack?

I would have a very hard time with that. I would probably be freaking out, I am not going to lie. I know it's no one's fault but I would ask for my money back for the flight. I would probably be traumatized for a while after that! And of course, I would be a little apprehensive to get on another plane for a while!

I might be freaking out as well, it is just one of those rare inconveniences. I might be traumatized for life or for at least awhile. I don't get on many planes anyways to go on trips.
