Imprinted Haunting

I was telling a family member what happened to me and a friend of mine when we lived together. She told me it's what you'd call an "imprinted haunting". I figured I'd explain what happened, and let you guys decide if you've ever had this happen to you, and if so what you'd call it. If you haven't had it happen to you (or what I mean is, something similar) then what would you call it? A friend and I were living together in a house that we rented from her family. We were sitting in the living room one night when all of a sudden I looked in the mirror in the kitchen. I saw two figures, a boy and a girl, both wearing different era clothing. It could have been from the great depression or before, or it could have been indian. I think it was the latter, but I had only gotten a glance. That wasn't really the "imprinted haunting". The imprinted haunting happend in the same house around winter time, a few months later. I remember I was in my room when I heard it and it was the sound of someone running and then suddenly stopping. Then later I heard it again, sounding like it was coming from almost midways in the kitchen to right before the bathroom next to my room. It happened for about three months if I remember correctly every night, and then just stopped. Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them?
