It is really a hard decision for me to deactivate my account as of the moment I know I will surely miss my Facebook friends in there. From it, I will lost touch of their activities. But I have to make a big decision. This decision is to temporarily deactivate my Facebook account so that I will be able to focus on important things which is my studies.
I already made up my mind. I want to focus only to my studies until I graduate. This is my goal for now. Things in school are becoming hard and complicated which I need to endure for the whole year. I closed temporarily also my Facebook for me not to be tempted and waste my time in there.
Do you think I made the right decision? I want to hear all your opinion guys. Thanks a lot and have fun here in mylot!

I think you made the right of decision. In my situation, facebook is important because we have this kind of private group that my professor handles and he attached lessons, schedules and announcements there. If you have really nothing to do related to your facebook then you did the right thing !! But your friends might miss you and aren`t you worry about if you haven`t heard about them or something? Anyways, good luck to your studies. I hope mylot does not gets along the way for your concentration

That`s good if you can get it directly from your professor. In my part, we cannot do that. I can get it from my classmates but they still get it from the facebook an i don`t want to be a nuisance or something. If it`s only temporary then i know you can endure it. A week or two is not serious matter after all. You are welcome cearn. And thanks for the agree marrie

Hello se7enthbird! Thanks for your nice advices. I am really confused now because I use facebook also for educational purpose just like you. We also do the same thing in our class. However, I can't just rely on it. It won't be a big problem on my part since I can just ask a copy to my professor directly or to my classmates.
Marrie1, I know to myself already I will surely miss a lot but this is just temporary. I need to endure this for this moment until I will finish.

Yeah, that should be the way right from the start.. haha Leave facebook forever but it's nothing but a waste of time. Imagine the amount of time wasted in facebook, chatting with friends, wasting electricity, eating away laptop's battery life, u can be out there doing something more meaningful, helping to save the earth as well.. lol If u are able to leave facebook til end of this year, by time u finished your exams, i'm sure u might have forgotten all about facebook, which is a good thing haha

you've just made the right decision. I, too closed my account temporarily coz it's absolutely a waste of time. Would you gain money if you're on that site?- absolutely, no; If keeping track of your friends' activities would help your grades become higher in school?again it's 'no'. ergo, don't ever regret that decision.

Yes, studying is the most important factors for students. I have seen many students, who suffers to log in facebook during their exam days. Some people may not allow them to use facebook on exam days. In this manner you have take your own decision and it seems that you are self-confident. So best of luck for you . Stick on your decision.

Thanks if you think I am self-confident. I have to be because it is only myself I can depend on. There are many reasons that I need to be very diligent. Our school doesn't allow us to use facebook. The site is restricted. Studying is important. Very important.

Hi friend, your decision is right, keep it up. You can do your fb activities at any time. But if you missed your studies now, you will regret a lot in the future, so concentrate with your studies and forget about your fb account for a while. You can login to your fb after finishing your exams

For me, you did the right thing in terms of your studies. No one can say that you did wrong because EDUCATION should be our top priority.
Just make sure to inform your friends or other affiliate because so many people now want to communicate and inform others through social media. You migjt miss sime important events if you didn't inform them. I'm a graduating college student and i also have to focus only in accounting to secure my future. Stress is the output of my education world now. However, i nver think the same way, to deactivate yourself in social networking sites because i can still balance my time. Anyway, will u also be leavinv mylot? :D

No, I am not leaving mylot. I won't just be that very active here. I still want to participate in the discussions if ever I have the free time and especially when I miss mylot. In pertaining to education, we are so lucky to have able to go to school. That's why we need to priority our studies. I am a graduating student too. I need to put all my efforts, study hard and make my parents proud of me.
