Having a pet.

If you are a pet owner or considering to be one, you know or need to know that having an animal in your life will seriously change things in your daily routine. You need to make sure that everything you do for yourself, you do for your pet. Don't think that just because your pet isn't a human they don't deserve everything you deserve because that is completely untrue. Anybody who thinks otherwise should NOT have a pet. Who agrees?

hmmm, currently i care a cat that is not my cat...i mean i am not real her owner. She just comes and lives in my house now and then i feed her food. She had 2 kittens and then i cared them all. However i can't care many cats this time so that i brought 2 kittens and my cat, Noo, to my hometown and my mom cares them from last week. The mother cat still stays in my house and i do care her now. I am thinking...i really don't know what to do with her when i leave the city for my work and my trip may long 2-3 months...

In here neighbor don't care cats for you when you go away even though you pay them money. There is a service to care like that, but it is really expensive and i can't afford for it. With 3 cats in my hometown, no, i don't need to pay my mom money because she loves to care all of them also. I am worry a bit since a mother cat is in heat now and she may have more kittens later...i am not free much to care her kittens one more time...but the problem is she loves to stay in my house and she has no intend to goes back her owner (i also don't know who is her owner also)

Then give your mother this one too. I was just suggesting the money as an extra incentive for her to take yet one more cat since she is such a generous woman. "In here neighbor don't care cats," you say? Where Vietnam? Why not?, I am sure you could find someone who needs the money in Vietnam. You can't afford it? You asked in your one discussion that you started with the title that says "Money money I love money! , and in the discussion you ask "What should I do with all the money I am going to get with an increased salary?" Here's your answer, you can pay a neighbor to take care of the cat and then when you come back you can get her fixed so she doesn't have any more kittens. Just a little suggestion. You don't have to go with the service but I am going away for three days on vacation and paying ten dollars a day to a pet sitting service to come and feed, change litter and give water to them as I don't have any family and don't want my neighbors in my house. It would probably be less in Vietnam and since you have such an increased salary this might not be such a hardship for you.

Pay a neighbor to take care of her or feed her while you are gone. Or pay your mother to take this one too until you come back.

Absolutely agree. There is a public service announcement put out by the humane society that has a picture of a dog on one and and a cat on another. It says. I am a forever dog/cat. I am not an until you have a baby dog/cat, I am not an until you move, I am not an until you find a girlfriend, until I get old, until you have no time, until you get bored with me. I am a forever dog/cat. If you cannot give me forever then I am not the dog/cat for you. I am not an "until" dog/cat. It is really that simple. I had a dog for seventeen years. And cat's for twenty. I have had children and moved many times. I never considered giving them up for any reason. Animals to me are family not garbage. Totally agree.

ForSouls1234, yours cats and dogs have actually stayed with you. The longest year my dog stayed with me was 12years and cats 1year and few months. After that I give them away.

That totally goes against the grain of the post. And that is exactly what my and their post is about, not getting an animal unless you are prepared to care for them forever. I don't even want to know why you gave them away don't tell me, sometimes it's better when people find out they cannot care for a pet or they find they will hurt that pet in some way to give them away. But then it's really better to stay living without pets from then on. It's just too hard on them emotionally.

I agree with you. I think that any pet is a responsibility and you shouldn't get a pet unless you have the money and the time that you need to take good care of your pet. You need money if you want a pet, not just money for food and toys, you also need money for the annual visits to the vet and emergency visits if you pet gets ill. You need to make sure that you have enough time to take care of your pet. Your pet have different needs depending on the type of pets but they all have needs. If you don't have enough time to take the dog for a walk, clean the cages of the small animals like rabbits or guinea pigs etc you shouldn't get a pet.

I agree too. That is why, once our beloved dog is gone, I will NEVER have another one. Life throws you curves that you cannot possibly foresee. I read posts like this and realize I cannot expect understanding or flexibility from people who've never faced those decisions. So, better not to put myself in this situation ever again. Rather I live on the street, or go let my children and I go without food than deny the pet its shots.

Pets can be a very integral part of ones life but not to be made that it takes the emotion that one should have for fellow human being. Sure and true it is that having a pet requires and commands responsibility on the pet owner, who if not ready to have a pet and give the best of life should not get one. But in my part of the world, pets are treated with great love and emotion as the western world. Their accommodation, food and general welfare is treated with levity. I hope that it will be learned.

Levity is defined as a sense of amusement. Levity means the lack of seriousness or earnestness. So you are saying you hope that this will be learned. That people do not take owning an animal seriously. Wow, this goes completely against what the poster is trying to get across to certain people, apparently they are already failing with one post, hmm.

I totally agree with you! I'm a pet owner and our dog is just like part of the family. A pet has to be taken care of, feeding, hygiene, training and given attention to. We have neighbors that leave their dog out all the time. The dog is always barking and there is a reason for that, it needs attention.

That's right. I now own a pair of love birds and they already changed me. First, they now serve as my alarm clock because whenever I hear them chirping that's already a signal for me to get out of bed to feed them and clean their cage.

Hey dear animal lover , I'm always amazed that people that cares for the elderly, the children and the animals are always good people. It's nice to see conscious people that knows their responsabilities, in my case I actually do more for the pets and hubby is always calling my attention to that, that I should care more for me but I rescued almost 10 and they are my life . I'm Vegan too, I love all animals, they are so amazing.

I agree with you. My two dogs I treated them like my own child because they deserved it. Most of the time when i am with them they makes me happy and relax. Now that they far away from me I make sure that they still get the food and love they needed for me.
