I admire my mother-in-law secretly, because even if father-in-law is bedridden, she remains cheerful and jokes a lot when attending to him. In addition, she remains active in their Senior Citizen Club. In fact, today she went out together with our senior neighbor to attend a General Assembly of Senior Citizens. Surely, when I become one also, I would be like her also.

Hi there SimplyD! I think that you are one lucky girl to have a mother-in-law like that. In this world and age, I always hear wives complaining about their in-laws and like you, I am also lucky because I also like my mother-in-law. It's also hard, what your mother-in-law is doing because usually, wives would feel down when they are handling a situation like that, like your father-in-law being bedridden but it just shows her strength and how she is a real fighter. I know that deep inside, she may be feeling broken but she is trying hard to stay strong because during times like that, you can not really afford to be weak.

Yes, i must admit my MIL is a strong woman. I have never ever seen her cry nor become despondent, even when FIL was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. And i have observed that even if FIL would shout at her when she accidentally handled his aching part wrongly, she would also shout at him, thus FIL will stop.

Hi friend, really you are a great DIL to admire your MIL, it is really hard to see a DIL praising her MIL, most of the DIL and MIL don't have a proper relationship. I think you both have a good relationship. So you planned to join in the club feature and follow your MIL

ACtually, since we were invited to live with them, 8 years ago, i learned how to deal with my mother-in-law in a manner that we will not clash. I have seen her good traits that made me love her also, like my mother. And i will really be like her in joining the organization for Senior Citizen , when that time comes. And like her, i am also a cheerful person, and would remain that way until my old age.

Yes she is a wonderful woman, but also you must tell her if she wants to talk you are their for her because secretly she must be very worried about her husband's health.

Yes, we always talk with other, about his husband's condition. Besides, i take it to myself to go to the doctor for consultation about his husband's treatments and condition, so my mother-in-law will not be fatigued in going to and from the doctor. It's the least that we could do for her at this point of her life.

It just shows that she's happy with her life. She's content and happy with her husband too. I guess the husband must be feeling really love now, I bet he was good to her all their lives together to deserve this love! It really melts my heart when I see two old couple still together and caring for each other still. It's a rarity these days but at least it shows that they still exist. I wish to have this type of relationship and I do hope that we'd grow old loving each other more rather than despising (which is usual or common for old grumpy couples!). Have a great Mylot experience ahead!

Oh yes, laydee, they do quarrel a lot too over petty things. My mother is a joker so she would always pull a prank on him, which FIL would not take lightly , but angrily! Then after a while, they are okay again. I guess, that's one trait of couples getting older. But MIL is always the loving and caring one. And a cheerful one at that.

Yes, actually that's what she told me. She doesn't want to appear sad, so her husband will not feel depresses too.

Yes, we should be as active as they are jaiho! I think that's the reason why she has no ailments unlike my FIL who has hypertension, hypothyroidism, elvated blood sugar etc . and now cancer! So let's be like her, always cheerful, active and sociable. So, your MIL is into taeboo? Talo pa tayo ha?

Yes, she's indeed an admirable lady, jazel. She knows how to keep the hurt to herself and rely on God for his husband's recovery. And she knows how to make herself entertained also by being sociable, despite her husband's condition. Should other woman experience this, perhaps they appear worried and sad at all times.
