Yes I can stay in the coffee shop for a long time especially when I am doing some researched or edit some of our pictures. It keeps me awake and inspired when I am inside the coffee shop. I admit that I dont drink to much coffee but I love the smell that is the reason why it a long time for me to finished my coffee I am more on smelling it than drinking it.

Wouldn't you rather spend your spare time among fellow STARBUCKS-customers than spend it alone?

I used to ask myself the same question back then. I was really wondering why it takes so long to finish a cup of coffee in a coffee shop. Well, now I realize that coffee shop is not just for drinking coffee but it also a place to talk about business, contracts and perhaps to relax and unwind. I have some transactions that were even close up and finalized in coffee shops. That is what makes some people stay there longer.

Starbucks (and other coffee shops) is a place where people can stay for a very long time for just buying a cup of coffee. It's a perfect place for people to wait for someone/something or to simply hangout. I find the ambiance in coffee shops very soothing.

If I'm with a family member or a friend, yes, I'm willing to stay in coffee shops for a long time.

i go to coffee shop everyday, but i never spend it at starbuck, because it is more expensive than at street simple cafe.
I usually stay for a long time with my friends, actually in weekend. But, if i wanna drink myself alone, it takes approximately 1 hour to stay. Taste the coffee flavour, smell it slowly, let its flow to my nose first... Make a little conversation with the owner. Just looking around the crowd. And, sometimes, do mylotting, yes, this time i drinking coffee at coffee cafe you know, lol.. Surely, i am feeling enjoy while drinking coffee...not prefer in haste..

Hello youless
I rarely go into a coffee shop as I don't drink coffee. I can only remember a couple of times when I have been in a coffee shop, and those times were to meet with friends. We ended up staying in the coffee shop for a very long time, talking.
Peace

Hi youless
So that is the reason I have to wait for long (at times) at the coffee stalls here and I dont like waiting for my mug of coffee to reach me
I guess, they are undecided souls who cannot easily decide whether they need another mug

It's either they are waiting for someone as they made it as their meeting place or they just find the place best for relaxing using their laptop or ipads, especially when the place has a wi-fi internet connection. Maybe some of them are doing myLot activities while having their coffee. Hehe. Have a great day!

Hello youless, I can't spend lots of time in a coffee shop too. Of course it all depends on what you understand for long time and short time, but for me longer than an hour at once place is impossible. I get bored very soon, always drink my coffee for about half an hour or so and then it depends on who is sitting besides to me. If it is a person I haven't seen since very long, it will keep my interest for an hour there, but if not, I will stand up and walk away.

Think it happens sometimes when you are not yet finished discussing something especially when it's an important business deal. It also happens in our country sometimes that when it's real hot that you don't feel like going out yet, then again there are people who simply love the ambiance or think that they get their money's worth if they stay a little longer, perhaps its not as comfortable in their own house, so many reasons for people to stay longer my friend.

Yes we Asians prefer meals and restaurants if we want to stay longer with family or discuss something, hanging out and discussing over a cup of coffee or tea is very Western that has just been introduced to our cultures so I understand why some don't feel very comfortable about it, Yes restaurants. Chinese feast style, to discuss business and and be with family, tea or coffee in our culture is most of the times drunk after the meal or together with the meal and seldom just coffee alone, that is is better left for breakfast in many Asian cultures.

Yeah I use to spend a lot of time at coffee shops. It takes me awhile to drink all of my coffee. Also I would usually try and get some work done while I'm there. It's a nice little retreat as well.

Yeah those are times I enjoy. I have set down at a coffee shop in awhile. My husband and I did stop at starbucks when we traveled last weekend. I just love their drinks. We don't have one close to where we live so when we go out of town we like to stop there. I'm glad though that we don't have one close because it adds up pretty fast for two drinks, even one small drink for that matter.

If they have friends together, for sure it takes a long time for them to talk. If they bring a laptop, they will be busy with chatting or working on it...if they go to there alone..then they will finish coffee so fast like you did...

I do not stay in coffee shop for too long. Some people here do spend lots of time in the shopping and they do spend time for chatting with friends etc. There are lots of juice shops in our place where people come for chit chat and to have some snacks and juice.

It has been quite some time since I've actually been inside a coffee shop. Now, that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy a cup of coffee from Starbucks from time to time. What it does mean is that I don't really have anyone that I have to visit with that are going to meet with me at a coffee shop. Now, when I was a member of a local playgroup, I did sit at the coffee shop for some time because we would go there to get away from the kids for a little bit.

May they are enjoying the seat and like to chat with each other.
I know some people like to get a book and read it while they are drinking some coffee. They enjoy their time there and asking for several cups of coffee. I think it is ok.

You know, some of our coffee shops are almost like meeting places for people who want to spend some time on low budgets. Interestingly enough but these places used to be meeting places for instinctual where they would sit and talk about politics and books for hours.

i think they are there not only for having coffee but also they are doing some relaxation as well
they try to relax sometime. they look here and there and watch people doing different things.. sometimes when i am not relax i do the same too.. i go some where and start looking at people silently that what they are doing.. thats how i forget my problem and return home with fresh mind :)
