Dettol is an antiseptic liquid which we use to sanitize clothes, floor, etc.

If it is neat Dettol, it would probably make you violently sick and you will find it very unpleasant and burning to the throat but it shouldn't do any permanent damage. The recommended treatment is to immediately drink a glass or more of milk and to tickle the back of the throat to induce vomiting.
Diluted appropriately, Dettol is a good gargle/mouth wash for mouth and throat infections. Obviously, if you gargle with it, you will inevitably swallow a little and it will do no harm at all, though you should, of course, spit out most of it.

neat Dettol? what does that mean, do you mean pure Dettol?
how do you know the treatment and why milk only cant we drink any other liquid substance?
some people bath with diluted Dettol water and I think it is good and we should do it to purify water and it is a healthy habit. Gargling with diluted (1-2 drops) Dettol would be helpful for mouth health as well.

'Neat' means 'undiluted'. Other liquids will certainly dilute the Dettol in the stomach but milk is best because the proteins and fats in it help to coat the stomach wall and protect it from damage.

ok means concentrated. yes, other liquid will dilute the Dettol and it can cause other symptoms like stomch can get bigger in size because whenever we add Dettol in water some reaction happens and it get white in colour.
thanks for telling why Milk and not other liquid, Milk contain fat and protein and it is heavy than other liquids like water that is why it will less damage the stomach. milk tastes sweet that is why we may feel in burning throat.

My family used Dettol when I was growing up to cleanse minor scrapes and cuts. My little sister took a swig of the stuff straight from the bottle. She probably got more than a tablespoon of it. It was disgusting and she never did it again but it didn't do her any real harm. Didn't do her any good either. Why would anyone want to ingest that stuff?

we use it to clean and sanitize surfaces like glass, metal and we can wash our clothes in the Dettol water.
we use it on wounds and it is an antiseptic liquid and we should keep it in out first aid box. companies keep it in first aid box and we should have it at home.

Dettol is thought to be a lethal and corrosive poison. Like other ingestion of poizon, ingestion of dettol must be treated. Firstly try to induce vommiting and then soon hospitalize the patient. Doctor will irrigate patient's stomach to cleanse it.
