I'm 22 years old, average to good looking guy except for the hair, studying computer science engineering and and i'm having a receeding hairline. It looks like i'm going to be partly bald within a few years. Partly hereditary as my father has it, but no one else in family. I'm depressed to write this and it's decreasing my self confidence as my looks are detoriating day by day and i'm growing fat too with belly fat.
Please suggest a remedy for solving my problem as i'm sure mylot friends would help as i look upon mylot not as a place to earn money but a place to have healthy discussions.
Did anyone have a similar problem ? Let me know how to solve it, and if i can grow my fallen hair.

Okay as it seems we are in the same boat let me know if you find a solution. And you're right on the point that different people give different ideas. I think multivitamins, scalp message, coconut oil altogether might help to reduce the problem. I don't want go to so called therapies as they are expensive and seldom help. Research your way out. Bye.

I'm afraid that I think I know what you have, and I am so sorry, but at least you are not alone in this.
Some of my friends have had or do have this problem, but some of them live very normal lives, and they even have girlfriends and careers.
You said that your a computer science engineer, well, and not to generalize here, I'm trying not to generalize, but I know that most computer science engineers are nerds (I attend a well-known engineering university, and my father was an engineer, so I'm not targeting anyone here), and they love to watch or have watched "Star Trek". One of my favorite captains was, and is, Captain Jean-Luc Picard from "Star Trek: Next Generation", and as you might know, he is bald. The actor, Patrick Stewart is bald, and started losing his hair at the age of 19, but he is such a wonderful actor, and he isn't the only one. Ben Kingsley is also bald, and he too is an amazing actor.
This happens to a lot of men, more so than women. It's tough, and it's not easy, but you are in good company. Some of my good friends in the English Department at my university are also bald, and they are some of the greatest and smartest guys that I know. They do their best not to let going bald hinder what they want to do. Also, some of the bald guys that I know can really get the ladies, and they can command a lot of attention.
Many of the people on mylot can be very supportive, and some of them might be going through what you are going through, they have something similar, or they have other health conditions.
I have several skin conditions, Asthma, Allergies, and I'm Bipolar Type II. When I cough or sneeze, or if I have a really bad break out, people immediately start staring, and then I look at them back, and give them that, "What are you looking at?" stare, "What? Have you never seen someone with Asthma and Allergies before?"
People are going to say things, stare, or judge, but don't let it get to you because they might just be ignorant, or they might have a problem and don't want to realize it or deal with it.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I think yes it is mostly hereditary. but i would like to help you with it, as i do not know where you reside, but here in the Philippines there is this product that quite a lot of men with such a problem have testified that by using the product and treatment, their hair grew back naturally and was thicker. even men about 40 and above have used it and there was this celebrity too.
Maybe you would like to check it out.. I have not used it but seen those who did and the hairs grew naturally on them... it is wonderful!

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. But based on studied men are really more prone to falling hair or receding hair line. Sometimes stress can contribute to this problem. So if you've been having stressful life lately, maybe try to find time to de-stress. You might want to change your shampoo, try to find one that helps reduce falling hair.

No i don't think i feel stressed now or near past, but i have this habit of staying up late at night with my laptop doing programming, movies, creative stuff etc.
Do you think it could be a cause ? I don't know..
I'll change shampoo as you suggested to some good herbal one as you suggested. Bye.

hi, i m going to be a doctor(i m pursuing mbbs) earlier i was also having this problem...but no longer now
i want to tell u one secret that in medical science it is not possible to stop hair loss permanently ,ur falling rate will decrese upto the time to which u r taking medicines but not after skiping it
so i would prefer u to take homeopathic medicines for falling hairs..
as homeopathic treatment is beat for skin diseases including hairs...

I agree with antiquelady above. I know one of my husbands friends who is also bald at a young age. Luckily for men now its quite trendy to be bald (clean shaven) and being quite good looking himself this friend of my husband is quite popular with ladies.
I suggest you do something about your belly fat. i believe that you can control but like antiques advice, if you seek to grow your hair, you will likely to be scammed.

Hello there,
I have not experienced such problem before. But, one of my friends got this problem also and he is also 22 years old this year. I talked with him and he said that he actually bought a ebook about some interesting ways to take good care of your hair. Although it is true that genetic may play a role in this case, still, it is worth for a shoot, right? Here is the link for the ebook, if you are interested, do give it a try. http://bit.ly/MDqRJJ
