is it that people today have the wrong perception of happiness? i noticed that most people think that happiness comes from acquiring much financially. most people have the preconceived ideology that if i dont get rich then i wont be happy. i feel that this more than anything will lead to depression because lets face it in this era it is very difficult to get rich.
i think happiness is more than just having money and other possessions. happiness can come being with some one you love, surrounding yourself with people who love you and also a measure of comfort in my surroundings.....
so why do you think people are less happy? what do you think can change that? and what do you think would make you happy?

With the sociaty developing quickly, people are becoming more and more nervous and they are getting more and more ambitious. For me, I feel happy easily when I stay with my lover. If we want to be happy,we should exactly know what we really want and we should know contentment.

I am kind of agree with you actually. People nowadays tend to think that money can make them happy and money is the only solution. However, this idea is absolutely wrong since our family and friends are the most important persons that will bring happiness into our life. When we are sad, they will give us support and cheer us up and when we are happy, they are always there to share our happiness with us.

Well, that is life, unless you know the limit between those 2 things. One has to have enough money to be happy with his family. Without any money, his family will suffer with him. So, just define a limit for yourself and then stick to it then all should be fine already.

I agree that money doesn't necessarily make someone happy, but the lack of it,combined with the daily stress of social life, the pressure to pay the bills and the threat to be thrown away from their own houses by banks if they don't manage to pay their loans back on time have turned people into slaves of the consumption society, and when so many people feel that their hands are tied by so many constraints and they are basically doomed to work hard just to pay those bills how can they not feel unhappy?I don't know what would make others feel happy,I guess that if people tried to be kinder to each other and they wouldn't feel so much pressure from society to fulfill their ever increasing duties they would feel happier.I know that I feel happy whenever I can get out and spend a few days in a beautiful place, away from the turmoil of the crowds, and surrounded by people I care about.

Well it is their choice not to be happy.
Me, I am a happy person.
Some people take for granted things that they have and around them. They just longing and wanting for things that they want to satisfy their happiness.Sad but true.
Happiness could see and bring by simple things and people around us.

People are less happy simply because of the fact that material/s can't bring them happiness forever. They are not contented on what they got so they seek for more which they taught that will get them happiness. In this era no one wants to be poor since almost our needs and wants needs money to be bought which is wrong. Some people are contented living with the one's they love where you can seek true happiness. Giving others a smile on their face, lending a hand when they need help, laughing with them is almost enough for me to make myself happy.

Happiness i fact is relative...one man's happiness need not be the source of joy for another.Hence each one finds happiness in one's own vocations and engagements.

I am happy with small things in daily...i can smile whole day...with small reason...no house, no car, not much money in bank account, it is not a problem as long as i can support my living expense and enjoy my life.
Some people are less happy...because they don't know to enjoy their life and live in happiness, i think. They may put a goal to high and concentrate to get it..if not they will get upset, disappointed, etc...
How the rich is i don't care, i am still happy with my current life...

I think that we live in a world which moves so rapidly and changes so fast. We don't have time to think about ourselves and to find time to spend only with ourselves. We also tend to be unsatisfied with anything we acquire, we always want so much more, and thus we are never pleased with the present. I believe that we should concentrate more on our present, that we should find time to pamper ourselves from time to time, spend time with the beloved ones and that would make us happy.

Happiness is a choice. Money, material possessions or even other people cannot make a person happy. Happiness comes from within and is a personal choice.
I don't agree that people are less happy these days. I am a happy person and I know lots of other happy people as well. Surround yourself with the things that you love, people that you love, choose to be happy and you will be. It's really very simple.
