i'm always proud of my children, but right now, my son takes the cake! he recently lost a friend, due to a motorcyle accident. he wanted to do something for the family. with the help of his father, my son and another friend, came up with the idea of having a bbq fundraiser. my son has planned out the menu and has figured out how much it's going to cost. my son and his friend found a place to have the bbq and has made announcements on fb and did a text chain. so far, we're looking at, minimum, 100 people to show up for this thing. the boys have also decided to do a silent auction and have figured out what kind of items to put on the auction table. then we're going to do a raffle for a blanket and offer some fast food gift cards for runner up prizes. those boys are great!! for them to do this out of the love and respect of a former classmate to show this family. i couldn't ask for a better son.

I want this kind of selflessness too with my children. I have the impression that I have to start some consistent selfless volunteering before it kicks in with my children. Tell me is that one criteria I have to do? Thank you.

This sounds like a wonderful thing for your son to do to honor and remember his friend, angelwithkids.
Why are they doing a raffle and other fund raising? Is it for the Bar B Q, or some other reason?
Peace
