I found a job stocking bread on shelves in the next town over. Its 2 hours from 5am - 7am and pays 22.50$ a DAY (so $11.25 an hour). Its Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I thought this would be good for extra cash on the side. But I have plans for the weekend July 20 - 22 for camping. Should I call and apply just mentioning my plans?. I mean I could still go camping and just leave at 7am Saturday instead of Friday afternoon. But others are suppose to drive so I would have to pay more for parking. I don't normally take days off either.

I would absolutely call and apply and wait to mention the camping trip if you receive an interview and start moving through the hiring process. I've had vacations planned prior to a couple of interviews in the past and it was never a problem. My time off was granted, without pay. Good luck! Sounds like good money!

Good idea! I wouldn't mind the extra money each week, but really want to go away (the trip is arranged and paid for). If I did get hired I could work the 5am - 7am Saturday and just miss Friday with the camping just means I paid for the night and have to pay more for parking.

Yes, definetly. As long as you tell them at the interview you are fine. I have people do that to me all the time when I am hiring. I have also had to say it once or twice myself. People plan vacations and have to attend weddings or graduations. Just dont spring it on them or tell them after you are hired. Be up front and honest - employers like that. Good luck!

Rikki, you can't have everything. Remember, you said this job is good for extra cash. Weigh things over; however, maybe if you will explain nicely to your manager while at your work (not on the phone) they might let you take a leave of absence. Just try it! If the management won't allow you, think again. Does this job worth losing for on a camping trip?

I haven't gotten the job, I was going to apply. But weighting everything out. I never do things for myself or go away this is the one time I will its alresdy paid and the money can't be refunded (so I can't cancel the camping trip or else I lost the money).

apply and if they give you an interview ask them it it is possible you could continue with your ready made plans, if they say no then say find you will make other arrangements rather than lose the chance at the job.

If it is only one day you would not be available I would mention it. I had a seasonal job which ended on the 29th of December and I was moving out of state the day before and I was still hired. I think if you are honest and up front the employer will appreciate it. If you were asking for a week off they might not like it, but to ask for one day off I do not see it being a problem.
