i could sofar not understand the meaning of 'rating 500'? whenever i try to paste my text in discussion box a message appears 'in order to help prevent spam, only users with a rating greater than 500 are allowed to paste'. what does it mean? whether it is the number which appears with our name. if so i request mylot to reduce this rating number from 500 to 100 and allow pasting in order to mistake free quality discussion.

I'm not allowed to copy and paste either which was really frustrating considering when MyLot stuffs up it deletes the whole message that you've typed. I've had to retype things 3 to 4 times on occasion.
I'm still fairly new but I think it is the number of posts you have made which is next to your name. So you have 283 so far. It would be nice if they halved it to a rating of 250 as it will take a while to reach 500 and there are a lot of genuine people here who won't just copy paste things from other sites.

So rating is the number of responses posted? I thought it is not the number of post that's why I was wondering where to get a 500 rating. I just thought to be active in here and post quality contents which is difinitely difficult to achieve. Thanks.

Well I'm new so I can't be completely sure. I am hoping one of the veterans can answer this but I think that is what the rating is. It will take me a while to get there though but only been here just over a week so not complaining :)

I would like to add something here, in the hope that you in this box, and anyone else who reads, will understand why we have to wait until 500.
We are given the privilege of copy/pasting as the last of the 'milestone rewards'. Before then we get a star at 100 and we can use smilies at 200.
By waiting until 500, myLot presumes that every user will have read the FAQs and will have understood how everything works here.
As is it is obvious in this response box that those under 200 have not read them, I agree with the choice that myLot have made and think that it should definately stay put as a privilege for reaching 500

hi chouksey,
yahh it's the number which appears beside our name..,
i've been moving around in the FAQs page and found out the best answers for my questions like yours. The number beside our name indicates how active are you in mylot. But it doesn't necessarily the sum of all your discussions and comments. . It indicates how active are you and sometimes the longer your comment is, you can get 2points in just a snap. Even though you commented so many times, as long as they belong to one discussion, you'll only be credited by 1..
A user with 500 or more activity rating can use some great mylot features such as copy paste and the add image to discussion.
maybe, Mylot has created this system to ensure that they can already trust you by not pasting scam stuffs.

So if I only had said 'ok' as a response, that would have given me a point? Ok, I'll try it somewhere.

i'm not sure about that. But i also experienced such things wherein i responded a very short one, and no credited point at all. :) I'm not sure about the reason, maybe it's a rule. It could also be a result of my deleted comments because of the deleted discussions..

haha i'm sorry maybe i'm wrong with what i've experienced. :D One day, i commented longer response and they credited me 2points. Or i'm just wrong about it or it has other reasons.. :)
