Prior to Euro 2012, people talk about Christiano Ronaldo, Barcelona players, German players, but less are talk about Italian players.
Maybe because people think that the Italian players are the old horse and cannot make it at the major tournament. But the most standout player of the tournament so far for me is Andrea Pirlo. I will be very surprise if he cannot make it to the team of the tournament.
Andrea Pirlo now is 33 years old and he is the architect of the Italian team. Can we even argue that he is the best midfield of Euro 2012?

Pirlo has not doubt been the mastermind of the Italian midfield. He seems have found his fire back after a disastrous World Cup in 2010. But his biggest test is today against a rampaging German team. Italy has never lost to Germany in a major tournament and would like to keep the winning record going and Pirlo will be the key to it.
Cheers!

World Cup 2010 is the tournament he would like to forget. Strange that the players selected for the World Cup 2010 is almost exactly the same as the one which won World Cup 2006.
I think Pirlo will be more determine winning Euro this time as it will complete the winning trophy collection he had.
Serie A title, Italian Cup, Champion League, World Cup. Only cup missing is Euro. Hope fully he will get his chance this time as he is a great player.

hello,
If we talk about only this Euro Cup, then I think you are right. Pirlo has played some brilliant football. He is one of the main reason that Italy is in Finals. He is a great midfielder, may be not the best. I still think that Xavi and scweinsteiger are the best midfielder in the world. But still in this series, Pirlo has really showed his talent and not only him, but all of the Italy team. They have played some great football as a team. They deserve to be in the finals.

I think Andrea Pirlo is one of the best players of Euro 2012. He performed well for his team to reach in the final. Let us hope he will perform well in the final and lift the Euro 2012 cup for his team .

It is an assumption and views all people as Euro 2012 will take place, all the talk about Cristiano Ronaldo will shine there. But as far as the eye could see Cristiano Ronaldo is good but the party failed to take Portugal to the highest.
While at Euro 2012 was the start forgetting italy because they are not sure of the players who were brought by Cesare Prandelli to Poland and Ukraine. But there is a figure in italy italy differentiator that can show his best, he is Andrea Pirlo who deserves to be the best player.

It was excited to discuss about euro 2012,Italy now become strong team, they're different than last years. But unfortunately i'm waiting for Totti as a captain. Now Pirlo has a good midfielder. But we can't forget it about Ozil from Germany or Xavi from Spain.Ozil and Xavi also a good midfielder from his team.Last years i like Spain, and they're become a champion. This year Spain is still my favorite.

Italy are strong in their own way. they never are a team with a lot of flair like the spaniard, but they get the job done.
Regarding Totti, he retire a long time ago so I don't think we will see him again in Italy shirt.
Ozil and Xavi are good, but not as influential as Pirlo to the Italian team.

There is no doubt and no room for argument this time,Andrea Pirlo is clearly the best midfielder and the man of the tournament so far;his vitality and vision of the game inspired an Italian team whose evolution was truly impressive up to this point.I'm sure he can't be excluded from the team of the tournament and I think he might even be chosen the FIFA player of the year if Italy manages to win Euro 2012.

to be frank,i guess pirlo has been the driving force for italy due to which italy has made it this far into the tournament,he has been making lots of assists for strikers to score goals as well while italy needs something pirlo is the man to deliver,he scored a fantastic freekick against croatia as well his penalty kick against england was also must talked about,i would be very surprised if pirlo doesnt make 2012 all star euro line up

In time of Pirlo unable to make an assist, he spread the play very well and release other player especially the wide player.
Last night, he even have an on the line save when the scoreline still 0-0.
And who can forget the cheeky penalty kick against England. And if Italy will win the Euro 2012, it will be because of this man.

Maybe he is, after all the italians were not given much hope to progress beyond the quaterfinals after a mediocre (according to their standards) in qualifying and friendlies. But for me so far, no one really stand out. C.Ronaldo has his best game against Holland. Iniesta was good but could be greater. His performance was good. Didn't dropped but was just good and could have done better. Tonight and the finals ( if Italy does go to the final) will truly decide if Pirlo is indeed the best of the best, but i am hoping for a Germany win because i need the extra cash badly. Hahaha.

Look like even the Germans cannot beat the Italian tonight. Sorry for that. And again against the good German midfielder, Pirlo are the one who stand out most at the game. Didn't have a goal or assist, but the way he engineer the attack shows his class. by the way, he save the ball from the line when Buffon was beaten.
