I did a search so hope this doesnt be a copy. I dont know how long its been on youtube but my friend sent me this link this morning. A 71 yrs. old woman is more like shes maybe 40yrs. says shes vegan most of her life. sure makes a case for that huh? heres the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6qi3gfIJRA&feature=colike NOT A REFERRAL LINK. anyway I just thought it was amazing and regret all the years I not only ate meat but smoked. etc. wow, do you believe it? Do you think thats truely her reason for looking like this? I cant help it. now I have a taste for meat. Do you think we would actually crave meat if we were vegan at an earlier age? is it an aquired habit?

I guess it is possible. But it might not be true for everyone. I watched an episode of Oprah a year ago and they featured women aged 40 and above. They all looked very young. A woman who's already in her 70's looks like she's only 40. She still into body building. She said her secret is strict diet and regular exercise. Oh how i wish I can be like that too.

I think it's possible though on the other hand it could also be genetic. Some family has the genetic to delay aging plus she's vegetarian; these factors may be the reason of her young looking skin.

thats likely right. it does seem the youthful looks run in families, then so much more if they do a lot to take care of their health.

I think we can live on raw food for the most part, but I just looked at a video that has some warnings for us who live in countries with long winters. Our social environment can be a problem too, as people around us may be used to have meals together, and if we feel stress about eating differently, it may affect us so that we don't get the benefits of the raw diet. I guess we have to find a balance in this and slowly go as far as we can to keep a healthy lifestyle. We need to get vitamin B12 in some form, either in good quality supplements or food with B12. Some choose to eat fish and eggs to get it.. I read today about a super food that the Aztekes used and it is now consider a Super Food - it is called BenVia Gold Seed or "Salvia Hispanica L" and you can find it online and read about it. It is supposed to transform any food to a nutritional goldmine. I will do more research about it.

I think the day will come when there is no food...no plants and no animals for food, no birds or fish. There will be mass unemployment and the people will have to be fed. I think we will eat synthetic food in pill form . We will all be much healthier and the lack of doctors will not be a problem. We won't need so many doctors or dentists or dieticians. Specialist doctors will be mostly out of a job because we won't be ill. We will live longer and be fit and good looking as well. When I say "we", I mean humans.

Actually no, these ideas are my own. My diet of science fiction comes mostly from Asimov. I vaguely recall something about "soilent green"...so it's a movie? Is there a book as well do you know?

I do believe that there are people like this out there somewhere. Now I am not saying if everyone was a vegan they would look that good. Some people just have better gene's then others do. And I do believe that if you take care of yourself you will look younger longer. But remember that everyone is different. I knew people when I was young that were my age that were getting grey hair. Or some that were losing their hair. So it all depends I guess.

yes it has a lot to do with many different things i bet. genes, diet, and lifestyle. i knew a lady in her 20's when i was in my 40's and we had the same life style and everything, except she was a sun whorshipping tanner and she looked older then i did.

The sun is a killer, thats for sure. I was never one for worshiping the sun. I know my aunt has good genes, she is now 88 years old and she really is pretty good looking for her age. If I had to guess if I didn't know her I would say she would be no older then 70 years old. Thats amazing in my book.

I don't know whether I believe her or not. She can say she never had cosmetic surgery, but we don't know if she is telling the truth or not. I notice she didn't move her face around very much or her mouth.. she has a kind of unnatural smile that she is holding for a long time... maybe that's just her way.. I don't know. I know there are some people who don't seem to age.. I had a 101 year old patient in the nursing home and she didn't have a single wrinkle on her face. She was fed tube feedings for the last 13 years I had worked there due to her having been in an unresponsive state. We often were amazed over how soft and supple her skin was compared to 60 and 80 year olds. So I guess it's possible.

yes i really think it has to do with a combination of things plus not as much stress in her life. did you ever notice how much better we look after a good nights sleep or a great relaxing vacation?

Did you notice that she didn't look very animated? I mean, she looked unnatural.. like she had to keep a certain pose or look to keep from falling out all over... I half expected her to fall out in wrinkles if she blinked wrong. sorry.. but she is a made up job. I'm sure she looks good.. but I bet she has tons of makeup on... I'd look 40 too if I could put on the right makeup and hold my face in a certain way to stop the shadows from showing off my flaws.

sorry when they say it sounds too good to be true it probably is, no 72 year old woman can look like 40. She can look like 60 maybe even 55 but that is stretching it.

i think i put the 40yrs in there. but did you see the video? if you look close you can notice extra skin around the eyes and thinner lips. one person said her neck showed ageing. i think it interested me because im 64yrs and smokings caused me to look 70yrs before i quit.

I smoked for 34 years. I know I would look 70 or more if I hadn't quit. My ex sister in law is on facebook. She is too years older than me and I'm telling you our beautiful eldest mylotter, Auntie Hatley, looks much younger than her... my ex sis looks about 85 or more just from her smoking.

I think genetics and not smoking probably has alot to do with her looks. Being vegan or not I don't think has alot to do with it. The vegetables the better but alittle meat(everything in moderation)isn't going to hurt us unless it is blatantly steroid layden and all the worst choices of meat. I have followed my favorite beauty experts advise since I was in my late teens and I think it helped alot. Taking care of our skin while young is very important. I used to be freinds with a gal that was out in the sun constantly and she smoked and she sure pays the price for it now. She looks twice her age. I don't think we would necessarily crave meat but we would crave the nutrients in the meat. I think eating meat is an acquired taste. I know I could never cut it out of my diet. I have cut out alot of the red meat but I still eat pork, chicken, and I have to have fish.

Yep. Genetics will do alot. I have a strong heart but have the mental shortcomings so it is sort of a give and take thing. I have always been told I look younger than my years. It is nice to hear. I wish my body would help out too. lol

so obviously its not just diet like she is implying. yes a lot has to do with genetics. i know when i was 43yrs, i worked with a girl that was only 35yrs and one guy said one day, ask your mom, indicating her and she heard and it hurt her feelings. she looked about 50yrs and i still looked about 25yrs then, so that didnt help. but she'd always been a big drinker besides smoking. i didnt look so old until i was 57yrs so i think even then it was the smoking, stress and my getting so sick. genetics took me a long way. lol

I honestly don't know that eating a vegan diet will allow you to look significantly different from your biological age, though it might contribute to some extent. Instead, I tend to think that some people just have good genes and those allow some people to age more gracefully than other people do. For example, I'm 32 and my cousin is the same age as me. He looks older than I do because he started to go gray when he was only 18 years old.

yes ive come to the conclusion, from the responses ive gotten here that obviously its different things, like genes, life style, and illnesses. etc.

No, i don't think meat is a reason that make us older, my friend look so young since he eat all type of food but he goes to gym every day. I think there are many reasons for her young beauty...her gene, her life style, her mind...we look younger when we are optimistic and always happy, right?

I just ate meat for my breakfast... I know meat is a no-no for my health but I just couldn't resist the taste of it. It taste really good and I don't know if I will be able to live my life with just veggies. I guess I won't look that way as I aged. And I need to just accept that fact since it's definitely hard. I am definitely amazed with that woman. And she looks young than my mom which is only 47 years old. Anyways, have a great day!

If that would be the case, then I think I will not aged... I don't drink and smoke...but don't know with genetics since I've seen my relatives aged as they grow older. Well, I won't expect anything with. I will just move on and accept it anyway...

Well I don't think she looks too bad for her age. I think excersise and a healthy diet as well as not smoking and drinking too much can help but I don't believe that not eating any meat has such an effect. And I don't know if I believe her for saying she's had no plastic surgery, we can't know for sure and same about her actual age. Although not too sure why she would want to lie about any of it. Umm I'm not sure, I love to eat meat but if I really wanted to I could stop. Maybe if we were conditioned not to eat meat we may not. Depends on the person I guess :)

Well people think I'm younger than I am and I have never smoked. I do drink on occasion but it's not even weekly so this might have something to do with it? I think moderation on everything. Yes you can eat meat but not everynight and have some veggies and fruit. I don't have them daily like you're supposed to but I try to have them a few times a week :)

Hi friend, glad to hear about this. I am a strict vegan from my childhood, but i have an appearance which is apt to my age. I don't think becoming a vegan will keep your young look for a long, she is in strict diet control and take a lot of care about her appearance, so only she seems to be young in her old age

Hi bunny, I watched this movie following your link. Really it is amazing. To eat vegetables is a good habit and to be a vegan is more good. If we observe the animal world the vegan animals are robust. Elephant, hippopotamus, Giraffe all are vegan and bigger figure than meat eater like tiger, lion, hyena etc. So vegetables can make us young and fit. But we can't return from old to young. It is hard to avoid meat who are habituated to this food. At least we can eat more vegetables than meat, fish and egg.

Oh! i thought this discussion about the woman who undergo stem cells. She's in her early 70's but she looks like 40. I was amaze how this stem cells makes her your and tall. Anyway, veggies really help our system healthy. I do have a Chinese friend who ate stemmed veggies and fish all the time and she looks so young and fresh. She's 33 but her skin looks so young and her face is wrinkle free. I guess the her Chinese genes is one of the factor that delay her aging but eating natural food makes her more young.

that true also depend on the person. I think I can live without meat if I just want it, its the matter of self discipline. Veggies is healthy and yummy too. If other people can do it why not if you are determined to be a vegan now. That would be great.
